Summers @ The Lake... This may be a tradition to many but was a new change for me. A road trip stay-cation with family brought... us to the area. On the daily drives around we passed The Highlands multiple times. The constant landmark prompted me to checkout the menu. The whole family packed in for a late lunch. The staff was pleasant and welcoming as we were seated. A party of6 quite a few orders were placed. A quick recap of some of the items I ordered. -Friend Calamari -Grilled Octopus -SnapperSpecial The appetizers of fried calamari and grilled octopus were great starters. My octopus was tough and chewy a sign that itwas over cooked. Our server Timothy replaced it without hesitation. The second plate was perfect. However the best part of themeal was the special of the day the Red Snapper filet. It was the right choice. Cooked and seasoned to perfection, it was flakyand melted like butter in my mouth. I left extremely happy I convinced my family to give The Highlands a try. Just A Note: Ifthe Red Snapper is the special for the day, order it without a second thought. If you would like a non-alcoholic beverage theirsweet tea is a great choice. Read more
Stopped in while in area. Arrived just at opening without reservation so was happy to get a few seats at the bar, was not... looking for full dinner anyway. Small bar, bartender Nate was very friendly but seemed challenged while prepping bar at opening, filling house beverage orders and then orders from people sitting at bar. Our beverage order was squeezed in after 15 minutes orso, enjoyed our order and a brief conversation with Nate. Ordered a few appetizers, grilled octopus and mahi tacos @19 ea.thought we could get an idea of the quality of this place for future. Well, we did, octopus dish was served lukewarm, not tomention small portion for price. Decent flavor but a bit chewy. I was able to live with the octopus disappointment but when Igot only two average sized tacos with a overkill of lettuce and tomato hiding a paltry amount of fish, this was crazy. $9.50 pertaco, this was insulting and a rip-off. This place may have some good reviews and the ownership means well, but I rather enjoyan expensive dish that meets the price in flavor, quantity and presentation that I offer in my restaurant, than this place. Ifprice is not a problem, nice place, staff seems nice, enjoy. Read more
The food was good, but small in portions. We both were hungry an hour later. The salads and presentation were beautiful. Our... server was nice but not very attentive. I felt it was a bit pricey but we ate on the deck and the view was beautiful. Our billwas $96 for both of us. I had the Cod and my friend had the pork chop and my cod was the special and more expensive than hislocally sourced porkchop. We both had salads and I had water and he had a Pepsi. You have to order your sides extra. But yet thepresentation was beautiful. See the photos. Read more
This restaurant will live in my memory rent free. I hope to come back as many times as possible. I am from out of town and must... say that Timothy, Linda and Megan were some of the most wonderful servers, and people, I have met in far too long. The scenery, food, atmosphere and kindness was absolutely immaculate. I left with a big smile and happy tummy. Highly recommend the LobsterMac. I was vegan before that dish. I am no longer vegan. Not even mad about it. Read more

Beautiful view of the water, absolutely delicious food with fresh ingredients, unique and tasty cocktails, and quick service.... Relaxing, plant filled atmosphere. We shared the baked brie appetizer which was delicious but made us hungry for more. I had thebeef brisket burger which was absolutely delicious and juicy. My partner has the chicken Milanese sandwich with chimchirrisauce, amazing! I had my eye on this slit the first day of our trip and asolutely loved it. Did not disappoint. Read more
