Lake Lure is a tourist destination. No doubt about that. Whenever you journey to a tourist destination there is always that... probability that you will be taken advantage of. You know, high prices, terrible wine pours, etc. This place is NOT that. Eventhough they COULD take advantage of you based on their location - they don't. They give you LOTS of food for the money, theirprices are very reasonable and the view on the porch is stunning. We had Lorraine as a waitress. She was extremely friendly andaccommodating. If you are passing through, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. And NOT related at all, my dog died today after14 years, while I was in NC eating here. I have no good reason to throw that fact into my review except I'm just sad.????. Am Iallowed to post a photo of her on a Google review? Not sure. But she was a damn good dog. She deserves to be remembered. Read more

We had an absolutely lovely view of Lake Lure, even got to see 3 people paragliding and our server Lorraine was incredible...but... that's where the positivity stops. This is the absolute worst Italian restaurant that I have ever eaten at. The Garlic knotswere burnt and stale. The eggplant parmesan was breaded mush, the Manicotti tubes were hard and you could tell that the food hadbeen microwaved. Then to literally top it off was the worst red sauce I have ever tasted. And THEN they charge you for $2.50 ifyou use a credit card!!! This place is about Italian as a can of Chef Boyardee...as a matter of fact save the money and get acan of Chef Boyardee Spaghetti and meatballs. It will be better than what you get here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anenemy. Read more

Excellent food in marvelous surroundings. Our party of four enjoyed our variety of fish & shrimp-related dishes. Although the... restaurant was very busy (we had to park in the overflow lot), we were able to wait at a table near the bar, & were seatedoutside in less than 35 minutes. Our onion ring appetizer was tasty but rather tough. However, the entrees were superb. My wife& I had the pistachio-encrusted trout - generous portions accompanied by one side; garlic mashed potatoes for me, & steamedbroccoli for her. Our friends had fried shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes (his) & grilled chicken with pasta salad(hers). Three of us drank water, while Highland Brewing's Oatmeal Porter was an excellent accompaniment to my meal. We werebrought some complimentary garlic bread biscuits. They were very good. When it was time for dessert, three of our partydemurred, but I ordered the praline apple cobbler. It was served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream - perfection! As forambiance, the picture below shows Chimney Rock to the southwest, while the range extends into the north. Only a panoramicpicture would do justice to the view from our table on the second floor veranda. In summary, I'd skip the onion rings, the restis five star. Read more

I loved the view from the patio! This time of year it's crazy busy but I was impressed that they were fully staffed and we... hardly had a wait despite how busy they were. Tables and dining area were clean and neat, their food menu is pretty typical butdefinitely has something for everyone. Same goes for beverages. The prices are a little steep for what you get but again, thisis a very touristy area. If you're looking for a nice, quiet, romantic spot, this isn't it. But if you're up for a good meal, adecent view of Chimney Rock (or inside with good air conditioning) in a family setting, I highly recommend this as a stop. Iordered a grilled chicken Asian-fusion style salad (can't remember the name) and was very happy with it. All fresh greens, greatchicken, and the size was perfect as a full meal. Thanks for the great service! We'll be back for sure. Read more

The NC Trout sandwich was very tasty and a great portion. There sweet potato fries with Pina colada dipping sauce was as good as... any dessert. This place is very nice and reasonably priced as well. The lake view is great! Read more

We?re staying in lake lure for a few days and needed to have some dinner. La Strada was one of the few places open at the time... so we decided to check it out! Everything was delicious and the Michelle was a great waitress! The only thing we weren?t reallya fan of was the garlic rolls - we thought they could be better but everything else was great! The staff were very friendly. The waiter was good he kept checking on us. We were not very hungry so we decided to split the... Italian feast. Everything tasted great. There was enough food that we couldn't finish it. The sauces were delicious. The rollsthey bring out were drenched in a butter and parmesan. Over all a good meal. Read more

We have seen this place for years. Many times as visitors and many as residents. We always said we wanted to try it, well... today we did. To say the least we were not disappointed and we should have made the visit years ago. Service was outstandingand Amanda was delightful to work with. You better come hungry because boy are the portions huge. We didn't get a pizza but Idid consider stealing a bite from the table next to us. I had spaghetti and the wife had the Penne pasta - garlic knots to diefor and the Italian Nachos we fantastic. We have found our new best Italian place and you should too. My one disappointment? Should have visited years ago! Give it a try, you'll love it! Read more
