OhMyGoooosh: what a nice group of people working at NLD! This is not a place you'll enter and go unnoticed/unacknowledged. Each... time I've been, I've been greeted by multiple folks - always with smiles on their faces. Could they REALLY all like their jobsTHAT much? Wait. Wait. Wait.A.Minute. OR, could they be imbibing ON the job?! Doesn't matter. I always feel welcome and amgreeted in some way - be it a verbal greeting or a smile - by everyone with whom eye contact is made. I really like this littleplace if for nothing more than the feelings it engenders every time I visit. But, it doesn't end there...The Bloody Mary issuper-yum. This, coming from someone who's not typically a fan of tomato juice (ew. gross). It's their version that's begun mytransformation. It was also NLD where I was introduced to The Cheese Lady's horseradish dip - and for which there was a periodof addiction - also freakin' yum! The drinks, the people, the appetizers (oh my) - all of it enough to make for an enjoyablestop. But, wait. There's more. There are multiple little gathering places in which to sit and enjoy one's beverages, appetizers,and company. I'm partial to the little covered "long bar" on the porch that provides for opportunity to people-watch, read abook, sit with my hounds...Oh yeah. Less I forget, NLD has a great array of (tasteful) items to be purchased in the adjoining"gift-shop-ish" portion of the business. I'm pretty sure they also do gift wrapping. Just WOW! What a find! We were on a mission to procure the horseradish vodka for a NC friend and discovered this magical... place! Mandy and her colleagues are SUPER friendly, the ?sampling system? is fabulous, the store itself is beautiful and thepost-shopping cocktail, a Bloody Mary, was epic!
