Additional Information
Good, consistent tex-mex staples. Our local go-to when the need to feed hits. Far better than any type of fast food and better... than many other tex-mex restaurants in the area. Reasonable prices , consistent food, and comfortable atmosphere all make for apleasant dining experience. Unfortunately for all, the Brazos Mall has decided to give their store-front to another retailer, effectively putting El Chico out of business at the end of this year. Read more
I first went to an El Chico when I was a kid in the 1970s. It was one of the early Mexican food chain. For many years it... defined what I thought Mexican food should taste like. I went to this El Chico somewhat out of nostalgia. While there are nowmany other styles to choose from, eating here brought back the taste memory of my youth and I loved it! I got the "South of theBorder Combo" which includes a beef enchilada, chicken enchilada and chicken taco. I enjoyed every item. Read more
Had the best lunch with my sister and son, I absolutely love the cheese enchiladas paired with a fresh sweet tea. The... environment is always kid friendly and the staff is beyond helpful and so sweet. I highly recommend having lunch or dinner at ElChico with your family. Read more
Had three cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, a tequila sunrise, and chips and salsa. The tequila sunrise was ok, probably would... have been better if I ordered a different tequila instead of the cheap stuff. Cheese enchiladas were a bit spicy, but I don'ttolerate spice too well. Everything else was spot on! Staff was super friendly too, which is always a plus and a factor if Ireturn at a restaurant again. Would eat here again. Read more

Cavendars had so many options but no they got in with the mall and are causing El Chico to close their location. I promise I... will never set foot in Cavendars when they open and I am done with Brazos Mall too. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in 1997and El Chico was the only restaurant i felt comfortable eating at. I along with Sharon Jepson started the Celiac Support groupin 1998 El Chico went over and above to accommodate our needs. Removing Wheat, Rye, and Barley from one?s diet 33 years ago wasextremely difficult but El Chico was there. Even going as far as to change their Spanish rice so the Support Group could have anannual dinner there. Those dinners made the group members feel like normal people we were happy and treated so well by Bruce andhis staf. The staff was educated on the Gluten Free diet. The Gluten Free diet was our only medicine and still is. Being able togo out to eat back then was like being invited to a presidential inaugural ball for us. The management worked with us to createa Gluten free menu. In 1998 99? 2000 and so on this was a big deal no one had a gluten free menu. I even had waitstaff atanother restaurant laugh at me because I questioned her about their food. At that time I was a 5?7? woman who weighed 83 poundsfood with Gluten in. It ravaged my body for 14 years before my Condition was diagnosed. I was close to death and my immunesystem that now , 26 years later I still have a multitude of conditions that were caused by this Disease. El Chico made me feelnormal and was the only restaurant I could eat at without fear of becoming deathly Ill . To this day El Chico is a special placefor me and many others. I am honestly devastated that BrazosMall would throw out this special restaurant out,not just out oftheir mall for a store who had many options. Thanks Brazos mall for throwing out a historical place in BrazoriaCounty. I urgepeople to show your opinion with your feet and stay away from Cavendars and Brazos Mall. A Read more
