Reviews for Babaloo Lounge in Lake Havasu City, AZ
Great food, good atmosphere and the music was an added bonus. Our server was amazing
This spot is very out of place in such a good way. As soon as you walk in, you find an old school Cuban-American restaurant/bar... you would expect to find on the east coast. It?s a classy joint, but still very laid back. Brian was the gentleman who took careof us. He was freakin awesome. My seven year old niece asked for chicken and fries and when Brian brought it out, it looked likea well presented gourmet meal. We had a positive experience with everyone here. Brian was extra great. For this Vegan, the food was Awesome, as was the service. I will come back again. The band, Swamp Donkey was steaming hot with... talent. I was surprised to find this level of talent outside Los Angeles. The guitar and voices were very professional, especially the exceptional lead player, Mark Espinoza. I great find for unbelievable entertainment. Read more

First time visit but my friend of 13 years here in Havasu who loves the place, agreed it was a horrible evening and a big waste... of money. Waited forever for cold food and the live music was too loud, couldn?t even hear each other to have a conversation.Waiter was truly trying provide a pleasant dinner but just didn?t happen. The hostesses was extremely pleasant as well and therestaurant and bar is very nicely done with a view of the Lake. Maybe just am off night. Read more
Really enjoyed my food and service at Babaloo! The manger Jim is so welcoming and made us feel like regulars on our first... visit. The garlic ginger steak bowl (with filet mignon) was melt in your mouth good. The flavors were perfect, the meat wastender, the rice was correctly cooked. The Cuban is also on par with other good Cubans I've had in the past. This place isdefinitely worth the stop. Read more
Great first visit food (Sometime b/w May-June, 2017): I had a teeny tiny portion of minced pork and mashed plantain & a... tablespoon of pickled salad as appetizer/starter. And a rice and fish dish as mains. I wanted chicha morada (beverage) and arrozchaufa fried rice, 2 of the most popular Peruvian fares but both was not on the menu. 1 star for very bad experience with thewaitress/server. Told her to come back for my flatware and she never did; she was too busy entertaining 2 guys. Eventually thecouple on the table on my right (facing the freeway) noticed I did not start eating right away and I told them I'm waiting forthe flatware. So they gave me theirs since they said they were just there to check out the place/have a drink. Before that, theserver/waitress was unwilling to ask the kitchen for me about something I wanted to know about the fish-giving me answers at thetop of her head. 5 stars for the kitchen although your portions were unbelievably small-even for someone dieting; and toopricey. You're charging customers for your ambiance, and NOT really the cost of the ingredients/food-which are mostly availablelocally. So charge it were it's due: what people really go there for, alcohol. Updated to 5 stars from 1: 02-21-2019 (my bday!).Really great food but we wanted "Cuban rice" with beans in it NOT rice AND beans (w/c was awesome too) but we guessed that's howyou were trying to showcase Cuban rice there. Love the flavor of the 3 ribs (that i shared w/ the hubby) but will request withmore lean meat in it next time. Awesome, awesome yucca (cassava/manioc) fries! For some reason, can't find photo of it in mycamera (#$%^&*). That grilled slab of squid as "calamari" was delicious and a phenomenal idea; not chewy/rubbery at all! Hubby'smini beef tacos-he had it before he said-was perfect. Kudos to Tracy & her floor partner (young lady in peach shirt). SORRY didnot get your name (sad face). Read more
Worse food I ever tasted. It took an hour to get my food. Ordered arroz con Pollo it was mushy and chicken was cold and hard as... a rock. They made it in a hurry, they had to defrost the chicken. It showed as we walk in special of the night. It showed itwas a lie, family Ordered picadillo was greasy. Rice showed it was old and beans no flavor. This is not Cuban food! Waiter wasexcellent he was so embarrassed about the arroz.. it took an hour to get our food. Music on Tues was so loud you couldn't hearyourself talk. One man band. Very dissatisfied. If you know real Cuban food this place is not it!!! Save your money. Lookslike they don't care if your not happy. They knew they make nasty food. Read more
