Crafted Italia was a restaurant I found while searching for dinner locations near Lake Geneva. The restaurant is in The Ridge... Hotel and there is plenty of parking – no fee. From the outside looking in, this hotel doesn’t appear “modern” orupdated. However, upon walking in, this hotel has clearly been remodeled and the décor is modern and clean. The restaurant islocated straight back from the main entrance. I loved the vibe of the restaurant – it was moody and romantic. There is a wallof windows that show a beautiful view of Lake Como. From there, you can also see the hotel terrace and outdoor space. It isbeautiful, and after dinner, we did walk around the hotel grounds for a bit. I would recommend that as well. As for our dinner,we made a reservation, which I always recommend when available. We were seated in a timely manner by a pleasant hostess. Ivisited in a group of three. We were seated at a table along the wall of windows. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Shearrived for our drink order promptly. The drink menu offers a selection of house cocktails as well as a plethora of wines forall palettes. For an appetizer, we order a Zeppole which in my opinion would be a crowd pleaser for most guests. They werecooked lovely with a side of red sauce. The serving size can easily be shared among a group of 4-6 people. Three people can alsoshare the serving size for the Caesar salad as well. For entrees, we order a variety – Italian Stallion pizza, Lobster Ravioliand Spaghetti and Meatballs. The pizza was very good, and the crust was cooked just right. I think 4-5 people could easily sharea pizza. The lobster ravioli was delightful. The spaghetti and meatballs dish was average. There was some concern with themeatballs though. It seemed it didn’t quite hold its shape as well as expected. However, the flavors were all there. Regardingprice, I would say the per person cost was right around $60 including beverage and tip. We went to this place a week or so ago and it was pretty decent. Last night, NOT SO MUCH. The service was poor. The chopped... salad is one of their best things on the menu and the main reason I went back. Last night it was served with an entirelydifferent dressing-a balsamic vinaigrette. Nothing like before a week ago and not as described on the menu. We asked for lemonsand she forgot. We asked for butter, ketchup and tarter sauce and SHE FORGOT AGAIN! By the time we got tarter sauce, fish wascold. By the time we got ketchup, French fries were cold. I ordered the kids spaghetti for $8 and was served and charged theadult spaghetti and meatballs for $25- big deference! To top it off, a very large gratuity was pre added- like 25%-really???Maybe that’s why service wasn’t a priority-they we’re charging it regardless! First when you walk in the dining room is very sleek modern looking but comforting at the same time. The attentive staff... directed us to the bartender Annie who I must say is just lovely, profesional, and overall a fantastic host. She made aexcellent wine recommendation, was very attentive and caring throughout the night. We started with a meatball appetizer servedover a saffron risotto that was amazingly flavorful. For dinner we tried the delicious handmade Lobster ravioli which iscompletely worth the return trip for that dish alone! I really enjoyed it here, first in the igloos, and then in the restaurant. I had the trout, which I recommend highly. Some of my... table mates ordered pasta and loved it. A very nice looking place with a view of Lake Como. Had a few of their craft cocktails, and everyone loved their meal choice... except 1. Only issue was with a very young staff, sometimes not enough exp. To handle any issues that come up. We told thewaiter about an issue and he just smiled and said sorry about that, instead of offering to get a mgr or bring it back to thekitchen. I had a great experience both times I visited crafted. The first was a wine diner specially prepared by the Chief. The food... courses pared extremely well with the wines and made for a wonderful dining experience. The Second time I visited crafted wasjust to grab 1 drink but the live music created such a fun vibe we ended up staying for 3-4. If you're looking for a nice dineror even just a drink Crafted is a great spot to check out! Read more
