Reviews for California Fish Grill in Lake Forest, CA
The petite Cajun salmon salad was delicious but the size of the salmon has gotten smaller every time I've gotten it lately.
This location is located inside a shopping center area where there are variety of food to choose from. The parking at this... California fish grill is easy to access at night. The food is awesome however the service was a little bit lagging. I order adish that took me 15 minutes to get my food. I am wondering why does it take so long when there is not a lot of people ordering.Could have done better by speeding up on cooking the food. Read more
Food was trash. Got the salmon with garlic butter and fries. The fish was super dry and burnt. Fries placed beneath the fish so... the sauce made them soggy. Went to ask for a fresh fish not burnt to a crisp and the staff just made eye contact then walkedaway. Didn?t know this was the go to spot for elderly. Looked like a convalescent home cafeteria. They all seemed to be enjoyingit, but the eat had two empty bottles of wine at the table as well. Place looks like a jail just barren, no soul at all. Prisonready metal food trays. Trash all around Read more
The California Fish Grill is a great fish house in Lake Forest. The food is tasty and the portions are generous for a good... price. It can get busy on weekend evenings, but they seem to handle it well. Read more
Ahi poke appetizer was different from the one I had before. Maybe the different locations have a different spin on it? ... Regardless, this one was flavorful and tasty. My white fish was a little overcooked but still good. Didn't care too much for theahi, but my coworker loved it. Sea bass had too much burnt skin on one side. Also, I've never seen a CA fish grill put yourfish on top of your sides for every plate. My coworker got sweet potato fries and brussel sprouts. The sprouts had balsamic onit and it really ruined the sweet potato fries. Also the combination of the fish on top made them soggy. I asked for extragarlic butter twice because this location seemed to give the least amount even when I asked for it initially. Read more
Vile doesn't even begin to describe the fried fish I got today at what previously was my favorite multiple location seafood... restaurant. Honestly, the fish was absolutely horrible. It was a bare sliver of a mushy, pasty semblance of what might have beena fish, that was hidden within a thick and mostly inedible crust with the texture and less taste than a coconut shell. Theonly thing positive I can say about it was they gave me three large pieces. The fries were half cooked and over spiced. They forgot the side of rice. Sadly, California Fish Grill was our go-to place for sea food. Perhaps this food disaster isonly at the El Toro location. Someday I may muster enough courage to see if the Irvine location still serves what used to besuperb fried fish. Read more
I like this place when I order the Atlantic salmon and various other grilled fish plates from here, however, today, I decided to... get a side of asparagus and when I opened the to go box, what I saw was kind of sad. I took a photo of the sticks of asparagus Ireceived because for a $2 side, I sort of expected more than three measly spears of asparagus. That?s all. The food is goodthough, just sad about the sticks of asparagus lol. Read more
California Fish Grill is an amazing restaurant with delicious food that makes my mouth water. You get served a delicious meal,... freshly made and grilled. There are lots of food and fish options, all caught 100% sustainably, with no use of large nets thattrap dolphins, turtles and other sea creatures by accident. Read more
