Pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I?ve been coming to Maui for years and have never eaten here. You can?t go wrong... with the candy bacon, banana bread French toast or the biscuits and gravy. It was all delicious! You can also grill your ownpancakes ?hibachi? style in the middle of the table. We went around 10:30a and waited about 20 minutes for a table. You have the option of ordering meals from the menu or cooking... your own pancakes. The staff was very, very nice. The pancakes were meh, but all of the sides were good. Read more
Of you?re staying in the area I recommend this for breakfast one day. Unique experience. Our service was OUTSTANDING and quick.... Food is decent and prices are okay. Personally I?d recommend skipping the make your own pancakes option. I ordered the biscuitsand gravy and was disappointed. Of course, it?s Maui and not known for that type of breakfast but I love a good B&G and figuredsince it was on the menu it must be decent. All in all, I still recommend giving it a try. Read more
Such a fun breakfast spot! You may be waiting a while to be seated but it?s so worth it. We chose to get a table with a griddle... and make our own pancakes and it was fun and different. Service here was very good and place was crazy busy. If you?re in Mauiyou gotta come here at least once for breakfast! Read more
A pancake hibachi place with lots of choices. I give 4 stars for taste but not so much for OUR service but I think our server... was new. Others who had different servers around us got served WAY quicker than us. The hostess finally took our order. Shesuggested the Hawaiian pancakes and to use the coconut cream syrup and she was spit on! I chose to make my own and gotbuttermilk batter, lemon curd and blueberries. Slappy Cakes is a fun place for breakfast where each table has a flat top griddle where you can cook your own pancakes. They... also serve biscuits and gravy, french toasts and some other items. On this visit we tried the biscuits and sausage gravy andthe avocado toast. Both items were good, however the avocado toast was more like scoops of guacamole rather than slices oravocado, but still good. Great little place to grab some breakfast. Read more
A fun experience, we only waited around 30 mins for a table. We could have gone in sooner however we wanted to wait for a table... with a griddle to ?make-our-own? pancakes ????
