Reviews for Papa'aina at the Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, HI

Beautiful spot right by the Lahaina harbor and the banyan tree that serves a nice breakfast/brunch. Some dishes were amazing—I... would go back for the crunchy/flaky malasada alone (and I don't even like doughnuts!!). Some dishes were a bitdisappointing—the French toast was a similar flavor profile to the malasada but not as great texture (it had an odd,panko-like outside, and was pretty dry if it weren't for the butter on top). Pancakes were very thick/fluffly with a giganticbowl of lilikoi (passionfruit) cream. Next time I'd get another malasada and try out their famous breakfast ramen. Read more

We ordered coconut crusted French toast with billionairesbacon, the granola yogurt "ocean bowl", smashed herb potatoes and the... donut with coconut cream and every single bite was INCREDIBLE! We are super picky San Francisco type foodies and very hard toimpress, this was the best meal we've had on maui in years! Our local friends directed us here, highly recommend! Read more

I had my wedding rehearsal brunch at Papa'Aina this morning and WOW!!! I wasn't sure what to expect (planning a destination... wedding is a fun process, but you don't get to see a lot of the venues in person before you book), but they exceeded everysingle expectation I had. First of all, we had booked a private room inside the restaurant in advance, but they decided to movethe brunch outside to their GORGEOUS courtyard as a surprise! So when I arrived, I felt like I had walked into a dream--the sunwas shining, the trees were gently blowing in the wind, the birds were singing, and there were tables and place settings justfor my rehearsal brunch! The staff is incredible--quick, efficient, and the most kind and generous people you will ever meet.Every guest was taken care of, every moment of the event. The manager, Rich, was warm, friendly, and personally saw to it thatevery guest was welcomed and taken care of. We are so appreciative of the incredible people there that made this day areality. The food--my friends and family were RAVING about the delicious food served at our brunch. Chef Lee Ann createdculinary heaven for myself and my family. We had 3 courses and everyone left satisfied and full! I heard things like "best mealI've had in a really long time" and "food is incredible" for 2 straight hours! Everyone absolutely loved her cooking. She issimply the best! I will never forget their kindness, attention to detail, or their warm welcome. Planning and executing adestination wedding can be stressful at times, but they just took care of everything for us and we didn't have to worry about athing today. Absolute slam dunk, LIGHTS OUT, incredible event at Papa'Aina. Thank you so much for everything! Read more

We were here two weeks ago for breakfast. Out of our entire Maui trip this was one of, if not the, best meals we had on the... island! We sat in the back courtyard which was quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. We got a round of drinks to start ourvacation off right and we're not disappointed with the bloody Mary and salty dog (both had gin substitutions for thevodka). Our server was fantastic! I can't remember her name...but she was a fellow Californian and had some killerrecommendations for the menu and other local places to check out. To eat, we got the French toast and crispy ramen - I normallydon't go for sweet breakfast, but as we were on vacation I went for it and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! The flavor, texture, andpresentation was on point. The crispy ramen was unique, but super good. The egg was perfectly cooked, the pork was delicious, and the noodles were crispy but also softened up if it sat in the sauce. I would definitely recommend stopping by here forbreakfast if you are on the West side of the island! Read more

Lahaina is where the great food is and you can find a Top Chef whipping up some sensational dishes! Lee Anne Wong, Iron Chef, is... setting a new standard on the island! I had the French Toast (Good luck going back to “traditional” French Toast!) and mywife has the veggie Benedict. The red pepper spread on the veggie Benedict was phenomenal. We ask for extra and I ate itstraight out the ramekin! Lol Billionaire Bacon...???? what more can I say! Don't miss out on this gem in Maui! Read more
