Well. The place is real cute. ... But you can find so much better Italian food elsewhere in Dutchess County. I ordered veal... and was delivered chicken. I had to then wait 25 minutes for my food. Others did not get all they had ordered as well. ThePiccata and Francese sauces are very bland. The potato croquets were tasteless. The calamari was tough. The Bolognese sauce wasjust not Bolognese at all.. it was just a red sauce with crushed meatballs. The dessert was good ! You can find so much betterItalian food elsewhere for sure. The best Italian food in Dutchess County
We got there and I said my wife would be 20 mins away. They never came over and asked my boys and myself if we wanted drinks. I... finally stopped the owner and asked. My wife came and again no waitress asking for 20 mins for our order. Finally we order andfood took quite some time to come out. If you are in a hurry not so good. I ordered chicken marsala it had a good marsala flavorand the potato croquette was crispy outside soft inside. The vegetables did not look appetizing. No oil or seasoning. Boys hadmargherita pizza that was good. My wife has Celiac and they have a pasta option and gluten free pizza ootion. Food was goodbesides the vegetables, but the wait left a lot to be desired. I?m rating Carlo?s 4 stars and not 5 only because I?m taking all restaurants into account (like the excellent Le Petit Bistro in... Rhinebeck). I?ve eaten here probably hundreds of times and never had a bad meal. Great value and WAY above average food. Trytheir daily specials! My girlfriend and I came to this restaurant for the first time to celebrate New Year's Eve on Sunday, December 31, 2017. She... had driven all the way from Albany to meet me at my home in Dutchess County so I chose this particular restaurant believing itwould not disappoint. And sure enough, they met my expectations. The first thing I would like to say is how awesome ourserver, Melissa happened to be and she was extremely attentive and accommodating. It is very difficult to go to manyrestaurants because a great majority of them use Styrofoam and my girlfriend often has leftovers. If I forget my tupperwarecontainers and we are forced to use Styrofoam then it makes me very unhappy due to a huge phobia of unnecessary waste andnon-recyclable food containers! Melissa was very understanding and offered to use foil as an alternative if we hadleftovers. The options for New Year's Eve was absolutely delectable and am going to post the menu on one of the photographs. The amount of money for the fixed price menu was definitely worth every penny and I enjoyed the twin lobster tails as my choice. The meals were very filling but not so filling that we had to take home leftovers so the foil turned out to be unnecessary. Hooray! With my reviews on restaurants, I judge the establishments on 50% service and 50% food. If both the food and serviceare terrible then the place has no redeeming qualities. But service and courtesy is extremely important considering I live withAsperger's syndrome and must go to a place where I am made to feel welcome. This has not always been the case at restaurantsand can tell you horror stories of times when servers have either run away and/or pretended not to hear me and there was onetraumatic experience at another restaurant when the waiter yelled at me because I did not understand how a fixed price menuworked and then made a snide comment to my mother about her dietary restrictions. Went for the 1st time. My husband n I were so happy with the food. Absolutely delish!! I had the Fruita De Mare n Hubby had a... steak cooked perfectly. Both dishes were EXCELLENT. I have been going to Carlo's Trattoria since the very first day they opened and I have always left extremely happy and... satisfied. The food they serve is not your everyday Italian Restaurant menu . It's an experience for your mouth to savor andenjoy. My family enjoys the specials that the Chef puts on the menu each week which never bores us . The family atmosphere makesyou feel right at home .
