Food was not good. My friend ordered kiesh, ham, egg, and cheese mind you, and it was refrigerator cold when brought to the... table. I never heard of a cold keish with those ingredients. We will never be going back. Read more
Home cooking at it's best. I had the Poppy seed chicken over rice with green beans, black eyed peas and Mac and cheese plus... slice of corn bread. The food was excellent, seasoned just right. My wife had chicken and broccoli over rice, fried okra, greenbeans and Mac and cheese and was equally as good. The atmosphere was interesting and nice, reminds me of past days Sundayafternoon meal. We had dessert peach cobbler with ice cream which was good and buttermilk pie which was very good. The price tous was a high but worth it occasionally, total per meal for meat, 3 vegetables a drink and dessert was $20 per person. I dorecommend giving them a try. Read more
First time. We have wanted to eat here for a while. Finally able to arrive before 2pm. I ordered the Poppy Chicken with Mashed... Potatoes and Mac n Cheese with Peach Cobbler for dessert. My wife ordered the Sherry Chicken with Green Beans and Turnip Greenswith Peach Cobbler for dessert. Everything came out quickly and hot. I loved the portion size. Our server, Kaitlynn did a greatjob keeping our glasses full. This will be a treat for us in the future when we can get here early enough. This location ishighly recommended! Read more

Went there for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised with the quality. It is actually like my mother used to make. One of the... best places to eat in LaGrange. And the peach cobbler is great. Puts Cracker Barrel to shame. The meatloaf didn?t have ketchupslathered on top, and the corn bread was moist and not dry. Read more
The wait was not too bad. The food was good but a little salty. I had the baked chicken breast pieces with dressing, gravy, and... turnips. The cornbread was tasty. The dressing was really good and well seasoned. The turnips might compare to Gloria's brand. Itried both the buttermilk pie and strawberry cobbler. They were both good, but I favor the strawberry cobbler. This place isworth another visit when looking to enjoy home made meals at a reasonable cost. My meal was under $20.00. Read more
Recently moved here and all the locals recommended Taste of Lemon, so I had to give it a try. Lovely setting in an old church,... very clean and plenty of space between tables. Waited just a few minutes to be seated, and our server was very friendly andattentive. The food is typical Southern fare, but vegetarians beware... Most of the vegetables are not vegetarian friendly, butour server was well-informed and able to point out the ones that are. I ordered Creamed Corn (excellent and piping hot), Mac andCheese (dry and oily, would not get again), Pasta Salad (very good and I liked the addition of black beans) and Curry Rice Salad(a bit like a yellow curried Rice-a-Roni and excellent). All served with a serving or cornbread. For dessert, the browniesundae is by far the best option. A large, warm brownie with a layer of chocolate icing is covered in vanilla ice cream andchocolate syrup. The brownie was soft, warm and gooey, just as a brownie should be, without being overly sweet. Some items sellout quickly, and the menu changes so plan to go early.
