While traveling through south Louisiana my wife searched for a place in Lafayette to eat lunch. We wanted something unique and... different from Cajun food and the usual chain restaurants. Patacon Latin Cuisine intrigued us both. A small restaurant nearthe ULL campus and a hospital, we were glad we stopped by. I ordered a Patacon sandwich which uses pressed fried plaintains asbuns and my wife ordered a chicken soup. The sandwich was a new experience and it was delicious. My wife said it was the bestsoup she had ever eaten from a restaurant. The owner's son was extremely friendly and helpful. We would recommend trying thisrestaurant. Read more

Stopped for lunch on our way home to Texas around 11:30. It was the perfect time right before the lunch rush. SO glad we came... here. I shared the brisket patacon with my husband and my girls shared a cheese and a chicken empanada plus an order of cheesetequeños. And we also had a slice of tres leches for dessert. It was all delicious! No one left hungry. I wish we lived closerand could eat here more often. The staff was great, the food came out quickly, and the bathrooms were clean. The perfect roadtrip lunch stop. Read more

My husband and I found the hidden gem around the corner from our gym. I had the cheese and veggie patacon and he had the chicken... arepa; we had the cheese and potato pastelitos as a side, and alfajores and tres leches for dessert (all for about $30)! Thefood was incredible- honestly one of my best foodie experiences. It was fresh, tasted homemade, and well-portioned (the pataconwas 1.5x the size of the arepa for reference). The service was great and friendly. I love that we can support a localfamily-owned restaurant, and I?m excited to make this one of our go-to?s! Highly recommend. Read more
