Usually the food at Fat Unicorn is very good. I like to try different plates so I tried the ribs and chicken. Not only were the... portions very small the food was barely warm. Others at our table who had the chicken had COLD chicken, although it was cooked.Seems like they microwave previously cooked food. It's also the second most expensive meal on the menu. Mediocre food. Great atmosphere. Our server was superb. Beer prices are absurd. Glass and a tankard are the same fluid size.... The manager argued this fact for 5 minutes before admitting that we were right. Save yourself $5. don't order a tankard. Read more

Decor & atmosphere - 4 out of 5 Beer variety & quality - 4 out of 5 Food variety & quality - 2 out of 5 Service - inconsistent,... some days 4 out of 5, some days 0 out of 5, some days 2 out of 5. It looks like they often have family members working and/orpeople that just haven't been trained correctly. Sometimes servers are attentive, some days you can sit there with empty glasses& they'll walk by 10 times. They had some good & unique appy's for awhile, last time I was there they were gone. Ordered"smoked bacon bites" or something like that last time, looked like they just bought a large ham, cut it into 2" cubes and burnedone side on a grill for 10 seconds & served it. Horrible, left 90% of it behind. The rest of the food was so-so, not bad, notgreat, little variety. Nothing that makes it stand out from the local competition. The owner should take the staff down toEdmonton for a day and go sit in an Earls, Montana's etc. for an hour in each place to observe how they operate, learn thebasics, like how to handle drinks when serving (no fingers on the top of the glass!) and how to observe when it looks like atable needs a check up to see if they want anything else. One more note - if I am going to drink premium craft brews, I want itin a GLASS, not a plastic imitation of a glass. Two of the most important things I look for when I go spend my hard earnedmoney to eat out are quality of food and service, so I am giving this place 1 star out of 5 for lacking in those two categories. Some of the best onion rings I've ever had! The beer batter is so tasty - no dip/ketchup required lol. Husband had the wheat... beer and said it was delicious. Smoky bacon bites are crazy. Probably a pound of bacon lol. Only thing is I would get a steakknife for them next time. Waitress was super helpful and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Read more

The Hefeweizen was delicious, cold and light with perfect wheat flavour. The FU burger is...gigantic. Massive portion size and... killer good. The french fries are golden to perfection. Read more
