We stayed in La Veta for close to 2 weeks, and found this restaurant. We really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere!... We've eaten there several times during our stay, breakfast and dinner. They're obviously having trouble with hiring andretention of staff, like many places, but I feel They're doing the best they can under the circumstances. I recommend therestaurant!! I came to town to visit family and went on a walk with my nephew. We walked by this restaurant and it absolutely reeked of... rancid oil and we noticed oil sprayed all over the building next to it. I?m not sure why they would allow the outside of theirestablishment smell horribly but I would never go in and eat. Read more

We were there for an hour and 45 minutes. Barely got served one drink. Our order was eventually taken, but the table of 4, that... arrived much later, got their entire dinner before we got out appetizer. Was never offered another drink. Restaurant wasliterally out of everything. Several groups of people left without receiving service. When I asked why the table of 4 got theirfood before we got our appetizer, I was told to get my wife and leave. I had the taco plate and none of it was any good, the beans were real dry and tasted like it was out of a can, the rice was... dried out and in hard chunks and the tacos were terrible even the shells. Best Southwestern/Mexican food we've had in the United States...seriously. Very hospitable folks. We were so glad we stopped!
