Food was amazing. We showed up for Sunday brunch but we?re greeted by a sign that said reservations only. I saw nothing on... their website to indicate that. We made a to go order and although there were reserved tables without patrons, we were told wecould wait outside when it was in the 30?s (chilly for us). Call ahead I guess! Read more

The Salmon Florentene - not sure of the spelling- was the finest dish of food I have ever ate when I ate there last week.... Admittedly I am a solidly middle class okie who hasn?t ate at a lot of exquisite food, but there?s only one word to describethis dish? Exquisite! I had the blackened catfish last year when I was here. Being a rural boy from OK, I like my fish fried. Iwas skeptical to say the least. It was nearly as good as the salmon? Enjoyed a good NM Burrito, chips and salsa, and some unsweetened tea for lunch. The salsa is super tat and has a nice kick--it's... addicting! Burrito had good flavor and not overly stuffed. Legends is such a perfect balance of what you want in a restaurant. Firstly, the food is clean and delicious. Gabriella really... knows how to cook! We consider it a treat each time- they have a smaller menu you can always count on to be above average, andthen their daily specials really shine. Then the ambiance is cute, a little country, relaxed, inviting and warm. Finally, Mickeyand staff are very accommodating - for example, we come in regularly with a baby, and they give us tables in the room we like,in the back so we have a place to put stroller behind us. Boutique cafe is the best way to describe Legends On Main. The menu is short but selective and the staff are all helpful. ... There are not many places to eat in La Veta which may explain some of the reason it is always busy here but the food is alsovery good and so is the service. We have always enjoyed our stop here. This restaurant would be a success in any major citybut is spectacular in this town. Read more
