Did not have a great experience there. Our waitress took a long time to take our order. Once we placed our order we saw that... other tables that got there after us got their food first. it was my first time going here. Would have given them five stars because the place was spotless clean and my waitress was... awesome and the breakfast prices were not too bad, but couple items that we ordered were really goofed up. My daughter's toastwas almost completely not toasted mine was way over toasted with no butter and mine and both of our over easy eggs were way wayundercooked. In their defense I will offer this it was extremely busy when I was there Sunday morning at like 10:30 or 11:00 Ithink it was a big after church crowd. We stopped for breakfast. WOW! AMAZING! A place in the North with good sweet tea and good breakfast gravy. So we returned for... dinner. I am bit of old school and like Liver and Onions. Christos have been a favorite restaurant of our family for 30+ years. My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner there. We... decided to go out to dinner last night and chose Christos since we have not been there since before the pandemic. They didn?tdisappoint! We had the fried chicken dinner it was very good, each dinner featured a half of chicken at a very reasonable price!The dinner came with salad or soup, ( I recommend the soup!) choice of potato and a dessert. Our server, Noah, was soattentive, even as his tables grew, plus he was very polite and so nice even as we watched other patriots treating him very rudeand complaining about, well just about everything. First off, Christos has the same owners as Round The Clock...I used to order take out from Round The Clock until the food turned... into garbage, they forgot items and the serving sizes became small. We started going to Christos for take out within the lastfew years and when we started the first few times were really good, portion size was fine, they didn't forget anything. As timehas gone on, the portion sizes for take out are RIDICULOUSLY small, they forget items, if you order salad they give you soup orif you order soup they give you salad and if you order soup and specify which one, they give you WHAT THEY CHOOSE, not yourchoice. I have ordered the chop steak when it has been a special because it was good. It used to be a decent size portion butTODAY they gave me a piece the size of a small hamburger with a tiny scoop of mashed potato...I ordered salad and they gave mesoup...really? I called and the lady that answered the phone acted like she was dumb and said... "Well I don't know why hewould give you soup instead of salad?" WELL I can tell you why...BECAUSE YOUR STAFF DON'T PAY ATTENTION and because YOURMANGERS DON'T MANAGE! AND YOUR PRICES GO UP BUT YOUR QUALITY AND PORTIONS GO DOWN...YOUR SERVERS WANT TIPS but if they forgetsomething or get something wrong why would anyone want to leave a tip. So here is my tip...PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT PEOPLE ORDER!! YOUR COOKS ALSO NEED TO STOP SERVING SLOP! Take out food SHOULD LOOK NO DIFFERENT then what you serve on plates for sit downguests...PERIOD! On that note, I will no longer be patronizing CHRISTOS OR ROUND THE CLOCK....IF THEY DON'T CARE, WHY SHOULDI...They obviously don't need my money...the negative reviews are numerous (take time to read through them and see for yourself)so I'm not the only one.... This is one of the better restaurants in LaPorte. My biggest challenge is that they do not have enough vegetarian/vegan choices... on the menu. Plant-based meat substitute would help make this an excellent restaurant. Great staff and the facilities andrestrooms are clean. Read more
This was not our first choice we had driven from Portage to eat at Zorros. But sad to say they were closed. So we stopped at... Christos and I am glad we did. We were seated right away. I had hot tea and water to drink my husband had the sweet tea a littlewatered down but ok. We both had the lemon rice soup that was very good and the rolls yummy. He ordered the Meatloaf that camewith two huge slices of meatloaf and mash potatoes he said it was very good. I ordered the pull pork Mac N cheese and ohh it wasso good. A lot of food brought most of mine home and ate it for lunch today. We did get a slice of apple pie each to go and thatdid not disappoint. I would definitely go back Read more
The best way to describe this diner is"with a touch of class!" Courteous , respectful staff, great service. Food quality... couldn't be better. Prices are very reasonable if not low for what you get. Definitely a 5 star experience! Read more
