The man I spoke to who was working the counter was amazingly kind and gave me a spectacular deal, I could hardly believe the... amount of food I had gotten for so cheap. The Tandoori chicken and Tikka Masala I had gotten there was some of the best I'd everhad. And the tandoori chicken was one of the tastiest things I had ever eaten, period. If the food wasn't so good, I would give 1 star. The management/service is the worst. I have tried delivery and carry out and it... doesn't matter, plan on your food being 1 hour late. Not a place to squeeze in on your lunch break, that's for sure. They makeno apologies for the terrible service either. If you can accept this; it is great food. Is it worth the hassle; up to you. Food is fantastically flavorful, balanced, and not overly sweet like many other Indian locations. The spices used are absolutely... wonderful and I personally think Clay Oven is a step above Everest in Encinitas in terms of quality. That said it issignificantly more expensive. We took my son there for his birthday after reading the reviews and were so impressed. The food was delicious with multi-layered... flavors and large portions. It was all freshly prepared and came out steaming hot. The owner even checked in with us to see howwe liked it. It was honestly some of the best Indian food we've ever had (and I'm Indian). We both ordered our meals medium spicy and they wereperfect! I typically am not a fan of the Korma my husband gets but I tried his anyway and liked it too! The cheese naan was anew one to us and we loved it. The garlic naan was delicious! My shrimp tikka masala was fantastic. If you dig Indian cuisine Ithink you’ll love this restaurant.
