Shared a meal with my family on a Friday evening. This one. I?m trying to be healthier so I ordered the Jacks Platter broiled.... $30. Let me clarify that to have your seafood broiled it is a $2 up charge so the whole ticket comes out to $32. The platesstarted coming out and all my families plates were fried. Heaping plates. Fat, juicy, portions. That pic of fried flounder iswhat my dad got. My plate comes and the picture down below is what I got. In that picture I had nibbled some of the shrimpjerky and some clam jerky. I was able to get pics of the size comparisons. The manager comes and is very nice. I point out thedifferences and he explains that the portions are the same but broiling makes them smaller. He offers me more shrimp and Iaccept. They gave me an excellent helping of shrimp that was clearly broiled correctly. The staff were very nice. Nocomplaints there. What would recommend to anyone dining is don?t accept what I received. Send it back and have them redo it.What I recieved was not worth $32 until he gave me extra fries and a butt load of shrimp. I had the shrimp po boy with french fries. Big portion and great taste. Tried the crab legs which were good too and the old bay... chips as well. Table also had the shrimp appetizer which was great. Got the chocolate cake slice. Good presentation and adelicious end to the meal. Read more
One of the best meals I had this trip. The seafood pasta was absolutely delicious! The service was great and the place was clean... and packed. It's also located right next to Kure Beach pier. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area. Read more
such an amazing food experience, the wait staff were all very kind and knowledgeable about any questions. the flounder meal was... excellent and well worth the price, and the honey sriracha shrimp was an appetizer for the ages. the cocktails were great aswell! Read more
Food was yummy! The crab dip with nan actually had seafood even on the first bite. The gal who attended to our table (sorry... didn't get the name) was perky, not too aggressive on rushing us to order, very courteous, good recommendations on menu, andwas very kind to my kids. Not a lot of places are good with kids. Their water automatically came in a covered to go cup. TheJacks Platter was nice with sufficient food to share for 2-3 pax. Scallops, fish, oyster, small shrimps. (Expected biggerpieces of shrimp though for that price) The crab cake duo was nice I had oysters (broiled) with fries and cole slaw that wasvery tasty and would've been perfect served with garlic bread. (Very small pieces though) The double Margarita was perfectending to our dinner had our not taken sooooo long to get it. Our nice server followed it up 3x (she basically kept coming backto us to update and i didn't have to try to find her) Ended up not enjoying it at the venue and putting it in a to go cupbecause hubby and the kids were already done done. Would we eat there again? Yes, but will be more wary about ordering acocktail since no one seems to be assigned to it. Busy restaurant! This is the first restaurant I've seen to turn customers away, luckily I was able to get onto the wait list... before it started getting late. Service was top notch, food was prepared to perfection. Can be a little rowdy/noisy but that'sto be expected given the presented atmosphere. Read more
Stopped in for appetizers. Everything was great! Pleasant people, good service and food was top notch! We will return next time... we're in town. We had seafood dip, catfish bites and bread. We enjoyed it all! Thanks for the great lunch!???? Read more
I can't say enough about the service that we received from the staff at Jack Mackerels. They went above and beyond to help us... with a section to eat with our son who has down syndrome. I explained to the staff that Dustin our son gets upset when there's alot of people and noise that can trigger his emotional behavior. I am very thankful for the accommodations that were made byeveryone who helped us with seating in an area that was peaceful for our family to eat. I had the shrimp and grits witch was thebest I have ever eaten and my wife had a steak that was perfectly cooked. Dustin as always had the chicken tenders and he reallyenjoyed them as well. Read more
