After seeing all of the positive reviews, we had to try it ourselves. We ordered 2 pizza & appetizer combos. The pizza?s were... generously topped, with good & even sauce and cheese. Our first pizza was pineapple, sausage, banana pepper with red sauce. Oursecond was chicken, red onion, basil with their garlic sauce. The garlic sauce was by far superior. The garlic bites wereextremely garlicky (which we loved) and the breadsticks were good too! Both can be dipped in either the nacho cheese ormarinara. Because everything is sour dough based, it?s much tougher & chewier vs traditional pizza. If you like sourdough, thisis the spot for you! We loved everything we had. Read more
An elegantly simple terrrific pie! The sauce was robust and substantial with nice chunks of tomato and the toppings were high... quality and diced for good distribution and overall flavor (as opposed to huge chunks of veggies you get with nationwidechains). There was a unique cheese blend which contributed to a signature flavor and a terrific presentation, all gooey, meltyand aromatic. But the real star of the show was the sourdough crust. The sharpness of the dourdough mixes with the savoryacidity of the sauce which blends surprisingly well with oil of the cheese and brightness of the fresh diced veggies. They gaveme a cheese cup on the side which sat unopened as I enjoyed the unmolested goodness of my crust bites with their residualsauce. This was my first sourdough pie, and it won?t be my last. In addition to a terrific product, the atmosphere was superchill. I was greeted enthusiastically as I walked in the door, and a B3 organ could be heard jamming out of the loudspeakerswhich forced my muscles to bop along with the 12 bar improvisation. I think it?s super cool they have a vegan menu. While notvegan myself, I am lacto-ovo pescatarian and appreciate when a restaurant here in small town midwest caters to those of us withmore conscious diets. I literally can?t find a Tofurky roast even at the Whole Foods in Indy, but Stony?s is mindful enough toinclude a vegan menu. I can?t recommend it enough to anyone. Read more
Although I enjoy their pizza, a bit frustrated when I called to order. Online ordering was not working due to some glitch. They... would not honor the online coupon price over the phone. Let me tell you about this place... Ordered a large banana pepper, pineapple, and pepperoni. The toppings are plentiful. The... sauce is sweet with just a hit of acidity. The cheese will give a wonderful stretch. Pizza in a town like Kokomo has nobusiness having such a wonderful pull of cheese and toppings, but this place has it. And the crust... Let me try explain howexcellent the crust is. The taste is second to none is this town. It is not hard, but the bottom is just hard enough you canstill support the weight of all those toppings. If there is a top pizza place in this town, dare I say Stoney's is it. If theyever attempt to do a sour dough Chicago style deep dish, my wallet and waistline are in trouble. Read more
