Reviews for The Tomato Head in Knoxville, TN
Not bad. We were seated pretty quickly with our party of 5. We ordered 1 pizza and had 3 coupons for free kid's slices from... the summer reading program. Even though I had a gift card and had free slices for the kids... the pizza is expensive! It'spretty good. You can tell the crust is fresh. I wouldn't mind some crust toppers or cheese in it or something because my kidsdidn't eat it. I don't think we would come if we didn't have the coupons though. It was fine for pizza but nothing to writehome about. Read more

One of the absolute worst dining experiences I’ve had. I was in Knoxville for work and had gone to a Tomato Head in the past... that was excellent. That was not the case at this location. My friend and I went in for brunch and it was a nightmare. We wereseated and our server took our drink orders. We both ordered water and coffee, it took a while for us to get our drinks and sheforgot my coffee the first time she brought our drinks. She also did not offer creamer and I had to ask multiple times before Igot any (she also didn’t bring me anything to stir it with). Up to that point things were a little weird but not terrible. Ourserver was scatter brained but we were very understanding. We ordered our food and when it arrived my friends order wascompletely wrong. The breakfast bowl I ordered was ice cold and the soup I ordered, (which I had previously ordered at anotherlocation), was lukewarm and tasted horrible. I let the server know my food was cold and she went to get the manager. The managerdid not come to talk to us, and our server just offered to have my order remade. I said no to the offer and figured they wouldat least not charge me for the food. NOPE! They still charged me full price for everything, and the server even asked if Iwanted a box. A crazy question considering I didn’t even want the food in at restaurant. This was an unfortunate place to endmy work trip. I wish I could give the experience 0 stars but 1 is the lowest I can do. Definitely would not recommend. Read more
Pizza and side salad were as good as downtown Knoxville location. They also offer outdoor seating, which was great for a sunny... day. Nice selection of beer and mixed drinks. There are also a few items on the dessert menu. Staff was friendly and attentive. Read more
Great customer service, pizza, and salad. We got the BFG with vegan pepperoni, and it was absolutely delicious ????. The dough... on the pizza is super fresh. Wish I would have gotten a picture, but we dug in immediately lol. The salad dressings weredelicious and the Mariana sauce was so yummy! Read more
The sandwiches were good, but the pizza was off. The pizza came out burnt the first time and then the second time it was just... not what tomato head used to known for. BTW: If you want a small remican of salsa it will cost you $2 for the first one and$2.25 for the second one. So think wisely if you want to spice up you blue corn chips (you sandwiches sides). Inflation isintense on the homemade salsa kids, no desert for us on this trip. Also the staff seems to be less engaged with thecustomers. Still a great atmosphere and the hummus is the BEST!!!!! Vegan options were great, seriously the best tofu ever. Read more
Got a slice of pizza #2-I was impressed! Crunchy bottom and crust, amazing flavor! Bacon salad- the poppy seed dressing was... fantastic, all the bacon on the salad made it a little salty, but all in all was really good! Also tried the gf bread sticks-those were really good as well. My wife enjoyed the Greek salad and soup of the day- pumpkin soup. All in all very good! It wasa little pricey, however in this case, you will get what you pay for. Very good food with quality ingredients! Read more
I have been wanting to try The Tomato Head ever since I moved here. I really liked my experience. There is an option to use... handheld menus or scan a QR code to read the menu on your phone. Well lit dining room, open space, outdoor dining available, calming music, servers were casually dressed but all super cute. You can see the kitchen through its glass. I ordered: -“Calm” Herbal Infusion Tea with Chamomile and Rose Petals (Tazo brand, also available for regular purchase). Came with teapot, tea mug, tea bag, 1 ounce of honey, 3 packets of brown sugar(I used 1/3 packets). Sooo good!!! $3 -Tomato Chipotle Soup.Had a slight spicy tang (perfect amount) with courtesy bread (very soft) and spoon. Enjoyed this as well. $4.25 - 9” BYOpizza. Toppings/base/protein all priced by categories they name A,B, & C, C being most expensive. Specifically, I had my pizzawith cheddar cheese, goat cheese, lamb sausage, portobello mushroom, pineapple(was cut very small chunks), spinach & sundriedtomato pesto, & green pepper. <— This rang up to around $23 to give you an estimate. Of course if you get the 14” (familysize) it’ll be close to $30! I especially enjoyed the goat cheese & spinach pesto(green looking sauce in my picture)being onthere! ???? My server was Grace. What a radiant and refreshing girl. She was attentive, patient, and helpful. She forgot myinitial request for ranch (free) but that’s not a big deal. The ranch was good too it was the liquidy kind. After I ate a bitI started to read and study, all went well. I felt the music was a bit loud and not just because I was studying, but just ingeneral. I saw a lot of previous reviews on how the crust on the pizza is burnt. Maybe some black parts, but ?? In my case, this was not the case. It was perfect to me. I dipped it in my soup and ranch. I looked forward to eating itactually. Bathrooms were clean! This is all I have to say I’m sure. I liked my experience. Very relaxing and good. I’m asucker for restaurants Read more
