What a treat! This restaurant has lovely ambiance, fun styling and knowledgeable front of the house staff. The cocktail menu is... divine, the service is prompt and just attentive enough. But the real win is the amazing chef driven menu featuring local,seasonal items intentionally selected and prepared. We started with grilled vegetables on a garlic purée, toasted house madefocaccia, chipotle pimento cheese (unlike any pimento cheese I’ve had before). Each bite was full flavor. The veggies weretender crisp, I could have just had a plate of the garlic sauce! The focaccia was spongy and light. The pimento cheese was thatamazing type of spicy, enough to notice but not so much that it got in the way of the other flavors. Next we had the cumin beefnoodles… the chef was not kidding as he explained his endless quest to perfect the recipe. Umami flavor bomb, high qualitylocal beef, handmade noodles, great heat balanced with delicate aromatics. It was truly unlike anything I’d had before. Thenthere was dessert. Lemon pound cake with bourbon dark brown sugar caramel. The cake was moist and tender, subtly citrus andperfectly paired with a velvety sauce I want on everything now! This place is phenomenal! Go! Simpl is simply outstanding! The appetizer, entree and dessert were all delicious. The veggie plate with garlic sauce and spicy... pimento cheese were my absolute favorites. The cumin beef noodle bowl was superb. The spice blended perfectly with the beef andnoodles. The lemon pound cake with the bourbon caramel was divine. Chef Kendale and staff went above and beyond to accommodateour large party. Exemplary service and attention to detail. What a splendid evening! I will definitely return in the nearfuture. Read more
Great atmosphere! We went during a busy time and were nervous about whether they’d have a table but the hostess was very... friendly and accommodating. Horrible service. I showed up 15 min before opening and the seating for the restaurant is unclear as many businesses are in the... same place.l, and we were at a picnic table not immediately in front of their shop. I agreed to purchase food from them to beable to use the table. I went in to order and the service was EXTREMELY rude to the point I cancelled my order. I was thencussed at and told they didn’t want to serve me anyway. Every other table was open and they had NO other customers. Thistreatment was from the manager on duty. Read more
We’ve always loved Simpl. For the food, the atmosphere, the people. It’s an incredible place. And we have loved it and... believed in it so much, that we decided to have our wedding reception there! They did an amazing job. They served our intimatewedding (approx. 56 people), decorated for us, and danced with us. We had an amazing time, and it was a perfect day & night forour wedding!!! the food was Luke warm at best, the bacon was WAAAAY too salty, the waitress dropped the food 9dd and never saw her again until... it was time to leave. we needed some condiments but the food was cold when she came back and got the check so we just didn'tget to eat 75% of our food. a shot of Baileys (smaller than a shot due to size of cappuccino) was $9 and she never told us whenordered how much it would be since the cappuccino was only $3.50. WHAT?!?! the food was not good. their menu is small and theburgers and sandwiches are very small for the price. we eat at a new brunch spot every Sunday and this has been one of our worstexperiences in over 6 months of brunch in knoxville Read more
