Was turned away because coincidentally was wearing a FL Gators shirt when I stopped for dinner. I understand this place is full... of UT pride, what I couldn?t believe was that I stood at the counter and was completely ignored for no other reason. Someonewould walk up to the counter and get almost immediate help, but I stood there for five minutes (first thinking they were justbusy) and received zero acknowledgement. I had been here before and eaten, the food is nothing special, but I was in the areaand stopped in. I will never go back. This location became a meeting point for me and one of my brothers from the Marine Corps. I found myself all the way across the... country and my friend just happened to move to Knoxville not too long ago and picked this spot to meet. Found this place to bevery charming. Food was great and the service was fantastic, very intentive crew. You can tell that the community really likesthis place because it seems like the same people come in here all the time everyone seems to know everybody which is a nicething to see especially me being from a larger City. If I find myself back in Knoxville and I hope I do I will definitely comeback to this place and try out more of their menu items, if you find yourself in Knoxville please give this place a try Read more

I've been going to S&A since the 80s near UT campus. The location out west is still just as great if your looking for a burger... and fries. They got other stuff too, but hard to beat a VOL burger and rings. The folks running the place make it very fun ifyou've never been. Read more
Great place with space to sit and enjoy a great meal. I had a mind to try the Vol Cheeseburger, but decided to try the very... crispy and slightly spicy wings. Side of ranch for dipping and a good stack of French fries. I was very impressed with how welleverything tasted, and their ?eat first, pay last? statement is very true. Warning! Cash or check (really, people still pay witha check? Yep, they do), so bring a solid $20 for a great meal for one person. They do have an ATM, if you forget. Best restaurant here in East Tennessee - John and staff know how to make a sandwich. The Vol burger is always a great choice.... The onion rings? I have to always get an order because they are my favorite. Yum yum! Read more
