It's the kind of place that makes you feel like family. We even met the owner and talked with her for a little bit. Amazing... home-cooked food. In Knoxville for few days, it was great to experience a southern meal. The catfish with two sides was awesome. The catfish were... two large pieces that were big and fried to perfection. The collards were great as well. The Mac and cheese wasn?t all thatgood. It was baked but still soupy. Baked should be a little drier. The cornbread was good. Read more
We stop by on our way back to Cali from NY. First time here and I can said if we ever pass or come to Tennessee we definitely... are stopping here again. Service was great and staff was attentive owner came by to greet us. Food was delicious. We had thefried chicken it was super crispy and tender best part it wasn't greasy as other places I have been to. Collard greens, thegreen, and the cabbage were sweet and tender just yummy. Husband had the meatloaf and it was delicious but he loved the friedchicken and mac cheese best. Food was delicious! The staff were super nice. Not exactly what I was thinking for hot chicken but everything was cooked... perfectly. And just a heads up - you will probably smell like fried chicken if you dine in. Read more
Customer service was good given the volume of customers. The Nash hot chicken is great. I got the catfish and it was cooked... amazin. I would say the yams need work or less nutmeg, peach cobbler was in same boat but maybe not peach season needed morecrust to peach ratio. Gotta love the atmosphere. Mac n cheese was good. This review is from the point of view of a traveler from a distant land who stopped in while passing through: I would give... Jackie's Dream five stars for the authentic local atmosphere alone. The food hit the spot as well. Very tasty fried chicken,ribs, baked beans, collard greens and potato salad. The fried tilapia was okay but not at the same level as the rest, the sameholds for the slaw, and the mashed potatoes. Beware the lemonade, it's syrupy sweet (which is probably the local style).
