Stopped by with a friend and found the Friday menu to be excellent. I had AMAZING chicken livers with excellent sides. ... Cornbread was absolutely perfect. My friend loved the chicken salad. Both of us had at least 1 more meal to take home from theserving size. But?we still had to share a wonderful banana pudding dessert. Being iced tea lovers, we were delighted to beserved freshly brewed bottomless glasses of the perfect brew. Our server, William, was very helpful in our food choices and wasVERY attentive to every detail of our visit. After seeing the daily menu specials list, it will be difficult to pass by thisrestaurant ANY/EVERY time that we are in the area during their Monday-Friday 11am-3pm open time. I have been telling my friends and family about this restaurant since Monday! Yes, it is that good!!! It reminds me of the food... the little old ladies at church used to make for church dinners when I was a little girl! It was delicious!!!! The menu is fantastic. The service was very lacking, however. We were seated early during lunch and the only table at the... time, yet 4 tables filled behind us, and each and every one of them were eating at least 10 minutes before our food was served. Our family has been a long time customer who waited patiently through the pandemic, and then their renovation. We waited 2 long... years for the beloved Horn of Plenty to return to our neighborhood to once again provide a delicious home cooked meal for ourfamily when life kept us busy and on the run. This is not the same old HoP sadly. The food quality is absolutely terrible, thefood no longer reminds you of Sunday dinner at Grandmother?s. We ordered several different entrees from their lunch menu with avariety of sides. We tried the chicken & dumplings, baked spaghetti, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, pinto beans withcornbread and macaroni and cheese. NONE were edible. This was during peak lunch hours when food should be served at itsprime-right in the middle of a weekly lunch hour. This was a to-go order so we had no discussion with anyone about the food.It?s not that the food wasn?t served warm or in a professional manner, I?d like to say the food tasted terrible, but thatdoesn?t come close to defining just how bad these entrees actually were. Myself and 5 other gentlemen decided to try Horn of Plenty at Middlebrook Pike for the first time ever! We were not disappointed... at all! The food was great, the atmosphere is awesome and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything youwant or need! I had the catfish filets and I?m a bit skeptical on restaurant?s catfish, but, I?d have to give this restaurant?scatfish?.???????????????? Everyone had something different for lunch, and not a single one of us had any complaint! If you?reanywhere near Old Cedar Bluff and Middlebrook Pike, pay them a visit! Read more
