I absolutely love the flavors of each dish I?ve ordered from this spot. I usually love their vegetarian #1-4 dishes. Their... spiced hot tea is delicious. Every time you pour the tea, it tastes better and better because of the amount of time it took forthe leaves to seep. The customer service is just so lovely. I just wish their appetizer comes in even numbers so we can split itevenly and for them to be open from Sunday through Tuesday! Read more

We got a vegetarian combo for three people (which is family-style), so were able to taste all of the veggie dishes. I really... enjoyed the less-spiced lentils and the carrot-y dish, and between us there was somebody who liked every serving. We willdefinitely be back. Read more

First off, their hours of operation are a bit odd, so double check they're even OPEN before you go. The food was very good, well... seasoned and the Injera, a sourdough flatbread, was as to be expected. Personally, I would have enjoyed the food more had it notbeen for the Injera. This bread, no matter where you get it, is for American tastes EXTREMELY SOURdough. Unfortunately for me,it is also your silverware... no knives, no forks here...it ended up making everything one note, when each of the six dishes ofour sampler platter were VERY different, and very well seasoned, each with interesting spices and combinations of spices. Cookedwell. The service was very good, the Ethiopian beer tastes like Peroni, a light skunky taste and very effervescent andrefreshing, an excellent summer beer... It's the sativa of beers. The food, minus my personal dislike of VERY SOURdoughsourdough flatbread, was excellent and true to how it's served in Africa from what I have gathered. I'm giving Gosh Ethiopian 8out of 10 stars... a soft 4 stars as Google's ratings go. I love experiencing different cultures food and this is anadventurous dive into the Ethiopian culture that you will probably never forget... In a good way. Bemigibu tedeseti! Read more

Food was wonderful! Server was very nice and explained about the different dishes. Would 100% reccomend. Alot of reviews said... service was slow? my party was two out of four patrons in the restaurant, so that may have contributed, but it was less than 15minutes from sit down until arrival of food. One of the neatest dining experiences I have had in my life. Read more

I?ve had some good food in Knoxville since I moved here, but nothing has compared to this food! Wow. So delicious. There are... delicious meats, vegetarian options, and yummy baklava. The person working the restaurant that day was very kind and welcoming. It was a great date night, given the intimacy of the dining experience, too! Can?t wait to go back! Read more

This is the only Ethiopian place in town. It started as a hole in the wall, and due to their success they were able to upgrade... and redecorate into a cute little place. Be aware there is NO silverware. You use pieces of the same type of bread that formsthe "plate" to pick up food and eat with your fingers. This is a great place to go for sharing - order a Gosh Combo and go totown. Their lentil appetizer is amazing. Better than the meat version. Spiced to perfection. They serve it with a spicy relishthat I wish was sold separately, perhaps by the quart. I've taken extra home before! Perfect place for vegetarians to showtheir friends that vegetarian food is not boring! The meat options are also really good though; one of the few places in townwith lamb. This is a very small operation (2-3 people usually) and so they occasionally run out of a particular item. It alsoleads to the one downside -- if they are busy, cooking your order can take a pretty good while. Just keep that in mind if it'sprime time or you are starving. The food is totally worth the wait. Also note they have a couple of import Ethiopian beers youcan try. Read more
