I did my birthday dinner here, and it was amazing. The service was impeccable! Our server (I can't remember her name; Black hair... and glasses) was awesome, along with the rest of the staff. All very friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful as well.We had broiled sf platters, crab bisque, crab stuffed mushrooms, and a pumpkin martini. All prepared to perfection. Highlyrecommend. (Prices are higher than some, but worth it. Definitely an example of "you get what you pay for".) Read more

Great service, fun location with a nice old school feel inside. We reserved through OpenTable and were seated quickly. Started... with smoked trout, which is served with capers, egg, tomatoes, toast points, and a very good mustard sauce. Something like atartare presentation, with cooked egg. Enjoyed it, although the trout itself was just okay and a bit dry. We also had the tunastarter, with Asian slaw. Very good, and the tuna was seared perfectly. Wonderful soy ginger sauce. The gumbo wasn't great. Ittasted canned, and didn't have much depth of flavor. I would pass. We both had the seafood salad, which was great. Accompanyingavacado ranch was nice, and the seafood was fresh. Not a fan of the way the scallops were prepared, but I am also not thebiggest fan of scallops. Overall, a reasonably priced, nice seafood restaurant. Service is great, and food had promise. Read more

Sat at the bar and had the time of our lives. Chesapeake is THE SPOT in Knoxville. Dave (the bar tender). The most attentive and... personable bartender I have met in a long time. His recommendations were great and I don’t think I ever saw the bottom of mydrink. To top it all off we went to a bar, of Dave’s recommendation, and people welcomed us & knew who sent us. Have nothingbut good things to say about the Chesapeake. Been coming to Knoxville for 10 years on business and have not had this good of anexperience. Highly recommend. Read more

We were in town to see Paul McCartney play for the first time, in Knoxville, Tennessee (what a show!????????). We'd heard that... Chesapeake Seafood was a great place to eat. Only problem was they were all booked up until 7 PM... however we "might" be ableto get a seat at the bar. They opened at 4:30. As we had to be out by 5:30 or so we headed on down and got there about 4:15.They weren't ready for us, but they did understand our predicament and let us sit a little early until they were ready at 4:30.Let me tell you by 4:40 the bar seats were full and Dave and Jim served us well. Not only in drinks but food and jokes as well.We had a blast! The Happy Hour appetizers is what we ate instead of dinner (you can get full food service at the bar) and thatwas a great deal. I had a delish dirty martini and followed up with their own brewed tasty porter. Two of them. When we're backthrough these parts you can be sure we'll be here. A special thanks to bartender Dave, he made us laugh. Read more

My wife and I visited Chesapeake's downtown Knoxville for the first time. We had an awesome experience. We are both foodies,... love to cook and owned a catering business years ago. First of all, when we walked in, we fell in love with the decor of thebuilding. It has an "old time" quaint look. The exposed bricks is a big thing now and it looked beautiful. It looks classy andcasual at the same time. The servers were amazing. The cocktails were perfect. We ordered baked oysters Rockefeller as anappetizer and they were delicious. My wife and I ordered the Maine lobster. They first brought the live lobster to our table tosee if it was to our liking. When they brought the cooked lobster, the server cracked it and arranged the meat beautifullyaround the shell. The meat was tender and juicy. The sides were also very good. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. It is a place where you can spend 2-3 hours dining and enjoying good company. Overlook the negative reviews and give it a try! Read more

Awesome atmosphere and even better food. I started with the crab fingers, which were a special, at my server Shannon’s... recommendation. They were prepared perfectly and were so tender I couldn’t eat them fast enough. I then ordered the surf nturf which was a 7 oz filet and 5 oz lobster tail. The lobster was prepared perfectly. It was piping hot, tender, and full ofthat fresh ocean taste. The filet was cooked magnificently to a medium rare with perfect grill marks on the outside, andseasoned perfectly. The food here is absolutely dynamite and the atmosphere is cozy. Service was top notch as well. Will def beback. Read more

We went here for lunch before going to smokey mountain, it is one of the few places that is still open on thanksgiving. We were... served by helpful and accommodating staff, and they served us complimentary breads. The place is very unique with a lot ofsea-inspired ornament. We ordered duck confit two ways and broiled seafood platter, and both of them was phenomenal, it was wellseasoned, savory, and the taste is just really good. The only downside is it is a bit pricey and we thought we would get a bigportion that can be shared for the four of us but it turned out it was a personal portion. Read more
