Reviews for Calhoun's in Maryville in Knoxville, TN
Went there for dinner. Calhoun’s used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but the last several times I’ve been it has been... mediocre at best. This time I ordered the “Big Pig” burger/sandwich. I’ve never had it before but wanted to give it a try.The burger was overcooked, tough, and dry. The pulled pork on top was really good and was the redeeming part of the burger. Igot fries as my side and they were room temperature. Overall it was a really disappointing birthday dinner. The high note wasour server, she went above and beyond to take care of us. Best server I’ve had in awhile. I’m not saying I’ll never beback because I’m sure I will, but sadly it won’t be one of my top choices anymore. I miss the Calhoun’s from years ago. Read more

Nothing special... Dry BBQ pork plate ,overly salted and dry baked potato. BBQ sauce was nice but too sweet , ordered mixed... drinks and they were about the only decent thing we ordered . The server was friendly ,polite and knew what she was doing Read more
The food was outstanding!!! The service from Amy was outstanding too. My eyes rolled back in my head in delight upon taking the... first bite of the chicken bacon sandwich/ burger. With garlic peppercorn sauce YUM. Got the green beans with thyme and garlic, delicious. Will definitely be back! Read more
Delicious! And the service was excellent. The only minus was that they were out of shrimp.
We went for a late lunch when visiting a friend in Knoxville. The restaurant appeared clean. Since we opted for a full booth... rather than the half booth/half table the hostess first took us to, there was an early mix-up with our server. After that wasresolved, our server was friendly & efficient. 2 of us ordered the kick back burger with the spinach maria side. The burger wasamazing! I was not a fan of the spinach - so much seasoning I couldn't even taste the spinach. My boyfriend ordered the BBQtrio. I tried the 3 meats & the ribs were phenomenal. I also thoroughly enjoyed his fries. They were hot, crispy & delicious. Myfriend ordered a macadamia nut banana pudding to go & I tried a forkful. Next time I might just order that for my meal!!! Iwould definitely recommend this restaurant. Read more
Calhoun's never disappoints no matter when you go. Saturday night but the wait was minimal which was great considering there... were 7 of us. Craft beers are good with a nice variety of ales and dark beers. Food cooked to order. Our server, Mary, was tops. She was efficient and professional. We noticed one employee sitting with his head hanging. We asked what was wrong. "I'm justtired." I think these days there are a lot of tired restaurant workers. My heart goes out to them. Highly recommended. Read more
Very good wild salmon. Disappointing burnt ends. It seems that all the rich fattiness of the burnt end experience was cut away... to the point that the meat was a very lean and dry cut that was then surrounded by bacon to reproduce the fattiness. Why? Thewhole point of burnt ends is to enjoy the inherent fattiness of the end. Delicious strawberry lemonade. My companion enjoyed thebbq chicken and mashed potatoes. Overall good meal. Read more
