One of our go-to spots when in town - beautiful wooden bar centered around a gorgeous oil painting. Feels like the kind of... independent place you want to support. Great food, had the pork with black eyed peas and collards and loved it. Bartender wassweet, Velvet Underground Spotify soundtrack on pointe ???? Read more

The service and the food was amazing. My server provided great service. I ordered the hoppin John and side salad. I wasn?t... able to finish the salad as I was nearly full from everything else. The server suggested the pepper vinaigrette that wasawesome for the greens. Read more

I'm shocked this restaurant is not rated 4.9 stars or more. Friendly and helpful staff on the phone. Tip top food quality. Best... veg. burger either of us have tasted. Tomato jam is delicious. Fries are crisp and flavorful. Read more

Absolutely the best food and service I?ve ever had. I don?t know what our waitress?s name was, but she was a sweet blonde girl... who had only been working there a couple of weeks, but went above and beyond to make sure it was a GREAT experience! This placeis just amazing? Not to mention the live jazz music? LOVED this place! Get an order of sliced tomatoes! ???? Read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town and decided to eat here because we love historical stuff and the history of... this building sounded interesting. While the atmosphere and live band were wonderful and were what we were expecting, theservice and food was not. Our waitress seemed disappointed when we told her that we would not be ordering drinks and ourservice went downhill from there. From what we read online, we thought that this place sounded like a restaurant, but I guess itis meant to be more of a bar. We didn't realize that this was a place where we would be expected to order drinks. After she tookour order for food we didn't see her again until we stopped her to ask for the bill. We ordered coke to drink and were justgiven coke cans with no glasses or anything. We both ordered sides and we never received them. Our entrees that we did receivewere pretty bland and the chicken had a slimy texture. We were never checked on so that we could communicate the fact that wenever received our sides or offered refills. Maybe we just came on a bad night, but this was not the experience that weexpected. Updated review. Still like this place, but DON'T come in at open. Forget service, even the food was sub par. This is my first... bad meal here but worse was the owners response. Basically told me to eat it for free instead of getting me what I ordered. Ireally tried but it just wasn't any good. I left disappointed and wondering if I'd ever come back. So sad... Old review: Sounexpected. Great gluten free menu. Amazing food. I won't say this often... It's under priced... $14 for a meal that I wouldhave payed double for and still been happy. You have to go here. Stop what you're doing and plan a trip here. This place needsto be on food network. Guy Feiri, why haven't you been here. You really need to try this place. If you agree, like this review. Read more
