Kate is phenomenal - she took care of our seasonal wedding desserts this past Fall (Whoopi pies and a tasty gluten free cake!). ... Not only are her creations absolutely delicious, but her attention to detail is exceptional (including placement of flowers fromthe florist). We live in Boston and continue to make the trip to Kittery for our special occasions (including gender revealcupcakes) as there really is no one better than Kate! Read more
Beautiful spot right on the river between Maine and New Hampshire. Excellent pastry, quiche and more... I really liked it.
Kate's Bakery and Cafe made the cake for my wedding, and it came out exactly how I wanted it to, simple with a beautiful dahlia... from the florist, and it tasted great too! We also ordered mini desserts for our rehearsal dinner and those were fantastic aswell! I highly recommend Kate's Bakery and Cafe for any dessert needs! Read more

Their website states to call them regarding wedding consults/tastings, so I did. The person who answered the phone was very... short with me and asked me to hold on while she talked to someone next to her about what I wanted. I could hear everything shesaid- "There's a girl on the phone who wants to book her wedding for NEXT YEAR." She then passed me off to someone else whosuggested I call back another time. I called back another time and the same scenario essentially repeated, only this time I wasasked to send an email instead of speak with someone. I sent them an email with the details of our wedding and what we werelooking for. I did no get a reply for 2 weeks. For some reason, I still decided to schedule a tasting. When we went for thetasting, Kate was there and told us she had someone call in sick that day. She gave us two kinds of cake, a bite sized fruittart, and a cannoli because "that's what I have today." We didn't get to sample different kinds of cake at all, and she keptgetting up to go do other things. Needless to say, we went with another bakery. Read more
This place is exactly in the name. It?s nice to see Kate herself working there whenever it?s open. Their coffee is well made,... along with their pastry?s. I just wish they had breakfast pizza every day. Read more
