We celebrated my father-in-law?s 89th birthday at The Main Grill tonight. The food was delicious. There were six of us. Three... in our party had the perch, one the salmon, one the maple bacon chicken and one a chicken sandwich. Everyone loved their meal. Our server was excellent. We were allowed to bring in our own birthday cake. Our server kept it in their fridge for us andbrought it to the table with candles when our meal was done without being asked. We all had a wonderful experience and willrecommend and return to this awesome restaurant. Read more
Went in for my sister's birthday dinner. Between the four of us we had the Main Pasta, Salmon, maple bacon chicken and my own... Beef Medallions. They were perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth delicious. Our meal took place in almost silence until we allshared a laugh about how tasty everything was and broke the spell. Highly recommend. Would love to have tried eating here. We arrived an hour before close, myself, my husband, and our four kids. We were told that... they were fully booked up, but it was clear it was BS bc it was only moderately busy, if that. The couple ahead of us waspromptly seated, but we were turned away instantly. My gut feeling was that we were maybe too big a group and the waitresswasn't interested in taking care of such a table an hour to closing time. Not that it matters, but today is my birthday as well,it just felt awful. I actually felt like we were turned away possibly because we have kids, it felt very strange. We didn't evenquestion the waitress bc it wasn't worth the fight, I don't feel right giving my business to someone after we felt discriminatedagainst. How strange. I've been to restaurants that serve and welcome guests right up until close. You feel welcome, and welltaken care of. That's how a business should treat their patrons. We were polite, and my children are respectful and wellbehaved, if not, we would not be taking them out. Maybe it's a wait staff specific issue, but we'll never know, bc we'll not begoing back to find out. Read more
Food was ok. But really upset with the service. Questioned about if there was any kid?s menu, staff told me 3 different kid... meals that they could do, and I ordered my kid a ?burger kid meal?, asked if they can put tomato, lettuce & pickle, instead ofjust a ?plain burger? (which I would expect paying couple dollars on it for extra items), staff said: ?yes, can order thekitchen to do it? End up, I got charged $19 for a ?kid menu?, including extra $1 for grilled cheddar. Asked the staff how comea kid menu is $19. I answered me that because I wanted ?everything in it? instead of a plain burger, it is NOT a kid mealanymore, which the staff NEVER mentioned about it when taking my order! If I do know adding ?everything? will make to kidburger meal change into a regular meal on the menu, I may choose something else for my kid instead of picking 1 out of 3 fromthe kid menu! Instead of it, they served the core of the tomato in the burger for the ?kid meal?, which I know lots ofrestaurants would avoid serving that part of the tomato for burger, didn?t expect that on an $19 burger. Huge portions, great pricing, superb flavour and presentation and a super friendly and cosy atmosphere made for a perfect dinner... out. Would 100% return to try a different dish. We had the calamari:it was cooked to perfection, the coating was amazing, alsohad the nachos: my favorite thick fried chips, with a delicious gr beef, cheese, cherry tomato and sour cream topping, the wifehad the orchard salad (freakin' amazing) with a side of perch and I had the perch and pickerel with fries special. The fish wasawesome, lightly floured and deep fried to perfection. Super friendly, attentive but not intrusive, efficient staff, our foodwas out fast and piping hot. Read more
