We've only been here about 5 times. Every single time the food has been consistently tasty. This restaurant is ALWAYS clean. Our... young servers have always been thorough and attentive. Not sure how the manager trains those teenagers to be so attentive andpolite, but every time we are there - we are always treated so well by these young kids. I find this very unusual. We have notgone out to eat a sit-dowm meal in approximately 10 months due to Covid! I felt very safe dining inside their restaurant. Therestaurant used white butcher paper as table clothes along with disposable plates, menus, utensils etc. I felt very safe eatingat this restaurant even though I am very particular about dining out during this pandemic. The drive in doesn't really describe going to a BBQ restaurant. You see goats, and what appears to be a multilane road, 2 in and... 1 out. Dirt mounts between the lanes further obscure what you're driving to. The location is basically rural, but once you walkin the door, which is wheelchair accessible, you're transported into a wonderful place. The decor gives you a glimpse into thepast. The staff are very friendly and professionally dressed. One of my beginning criteria for a restaurant is the state of therestroom. After being escorted to a table, I went to the restroom and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is humble and thebuilding just says "working class." Remarkably well clean and stocked. The sink was my favorite part, as the sink bowl was inthe shape of Texas. Also, mounted on the wall was the standard hand soap, but on the side of the sink was a bottle of scentedhand soap, which only added to the homely feel to the place. The server was extremely friendly and timely in both food deliveryand drink refills. He took very good care of my family. The food just tops it all off. I had the chopped brisket and rib platewith salad and fried okra. I was not disappointed with anything served. My family thoroughly enjoyed their plates as well,including my wife, who ordered the Sunday special German plate. She said her meat was better than it was at the two prominentGerman restaurants in the area. Overall, Big Hoss BBQ surpassed all our expectations, and fulfilled our desire for quality BBQ.Definitely recommend, and most certainly will be returning! Read more
Don't let the outside appearance fool you. This place is worth the drive. Food is fresh and taste amazing. Inside is nice and... clean. Service is quick. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend and I will return again! Read more
Big Hoss has friendly staff and great food. Our first visit to Big Hoss and the staff provided bread so my children could feed... the goats. We recommend the jalapeno saddles and the cheesecake is fantastic. Their brisket is very good but is not servedwet, with provided sauce it is awesome but eating it without sauce is a tad dry. Ribs, pulled pork and sausages are also verygood. The buns on their sandwiches are toasted to perfection with some char on the edges. We are looking forward to eating atBig Hoss next weekend, it one of the best BBQ places we have eaten at in Texas. Read more
Love this place. The food is fabulous. The owners are so nice and are very giving to the community as well. We have been to... numerous Hail and Farewells for my husband there and Big Hoss has brought food to where my work. When my family and I go outthere they give my daughter bread to feed to the animals. It's a great atmosphere and great food. Cannot ask for more. Read more
The food was really good. And the service was excellent. I took my Mom here for her Birthday!! We enjoyed ourselvrles, I had a... cucumber salad,Mac and cheese home fried potatoes and a schnitzel. (I loved the BBQ sauce too) only thing I wish they hadcookies. Read more
What a great place!!!! The restaurant is on an actual farm and my children loved the goats!! The staff were super friendly and... very helpful. My wife got the chopped brisket sandwich, I and my boys got the chicken fried steak (my birthday dinner CFS), myyoungest got the grilled cheese and my oldest got the fried catfish. We all loved every bit of it and we will definitely be backfor some good BBQ!!! Loved it!!! Read more
