We really enjoyed our meals at Goombay?s! The delicious appetizer of coconut shrimp, jalapeño crab balls and a tempura style... shrimp did not disappoint. Entree?s we tried were the catch of the day with grits and veggies & the pecan encrusted grouper withrice and black beans. Both were extremely good. Our server, Hope, was wonderful! Let me preface this statement with saying "I don't like seafood," but my wife is obsessed with it and even this place ended her... affair with the deep sea delight. The portions were awful and after her first bite of the sampler platter she asked that weleave. Unfortunately we had already ordered 100 dollars worth of disgusting food that found its way in the trash quickly. Waitnot also not attentive. In a way I'm thankful for this place. We always are up for trying new places when we head to the beach each year and this year we had a great pick at Goombays. The... wait was short, atmosphere super laid back and enjoyable and food was amazing! This was the top taste for food we had on ourtrip this year. Everything was great. There are good kid options as well. Grilled cheese and hot dogs with fries still pleaseours over most. Fries were especially delicious. There is also a lot of Merch to choose from although thats not our norm wewere looking because of the unique items. Take a trip here...it will be worth it based on our first trip. We will be back. Service was good for them being short staffed! I?m not sure our servers name but he had a mustache and curly brown hair & he was... the best! He needs a raise after how much we saw him running around and busting his butt for us and everyone else!! My onlycomplaint & the reason for not giving all 5 stars were that the shrimp was overcooked and super hard to peel on mine and myfriends order. The seasoning and flavor were on point though! Also my husband scarfed this pie down in like 5 seconds ???? its abit pricey in my opinion but I guess everything is now. Read more

We had a great lunch here. The food is excellent and service was friendly. Our group had crab legs, fish tacos, burger, steak... sub, pasta, and gator tail. Goombay splash drink was amazing too. Read more

Food was good overall but don't get the grits, it was recommended but the 2 that got it at our table loved the shrimp but not... the grits. The rest of us, including the kids, liked our meals. Kids enjoyed the fun names they gave the drinks on the menu,the place has a cute fun vacation decorated vibe. Parking lot is small n so is the restaurant so try to go when it's not busy.Bar looks like a local hole in the wall, very laid back. I'd go back if I lived closer but I enjoy places that aren't too fussyesp on vacation. Read more

The calamari where really good. The oysters not so much. They were fresh yes no though, that we found 3 little still alive... crabs. What I didn't like is that they don't cut it for you so they where still stuck to the shell. Little amount of meat. Read more

Alex was fantastic. Both soups, Hatteras clam chowder and red pepper and crab. Tuna Oscar was amazing. Shrimp sausage gumbo... and ribs. All wonderful. Glad we came. Read more
