My family and I were staying in Hawthorne for the weekend, and decided to try Clyde's for breakfast. We are so glad that we did.... Just like the name, it's a cozy corner cafe. Breakfast was amazingly delicious, great value and Excellent service. My sondevoured his pecan waffle. The sausage patties are yummy and definitely homemade. My husband enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. Icouldn't make up my mind on which eggs benedict to order and was so happy to have the option to order individual servings ofeach. I used to come here everyday, noticed the slow decline in good service, I came in on friday and watched a good server I had (for... once) get fired, she was attentive and sweet, I'm angry because they don't obey health codes and had the nerve to fire someonein front of the whole restaurant. The food was good, but service was not the best. Upon entering the restaurant, we waited to be seated. After a few mins a... customer told us that we seat ourselves. So we took a seat & our waitress came to get our drinks & take our order. The onlytime she came back was to bring us our food-no refills, no how is everything; and she wasn't even the 1 to bring us our check. Once we got the check, we didn't know if they came to the table to get it or if we took it to the registers. Had they beenbusy, I think we would have been more understanding, but really they need to focus on the overall communication w/theircustomers. Read more

Delicious omelette with vegetables caramelized the way they should be. Outstanding! A thing of beauty!!! I like that toast... and potatoes are offered but not included in the price of the omelette as my husband and I are following a ketogenic diet. We found this place after a long weekend of camping at Camp Shands. We were hungry and this was the perfect find!! The coffee... cups are deep and the portions are generous. A lot of love goes into this food and it shows. Staff is friendly, offering goodold southern hospitality. We will be back on our next trip through. Read more
