What a great local place! We have been coming once a month or so for quite a while and they never disappoint. We like sitting... at the bar and Amy is typically there. She is just outstanding! She takes great care of us with drinks and food. All the foodwe have tried is fabulous including; grouper fingers (amazing), grouper rueben, fish and chips, etc. Everything is alwaysprepared perfectly. We have never been disappointed. The vibe of the bar is just great too. Everyone is friendly and nomatter how busy they are, all the servers are helpful, friendly, and most have been there for some time. Read more
They have the best clam chowder around. The fish is good and a nice atmosphere there. Amy is really a good server/bar tender... and is really good at her job. She makes you feel really at home there. Read more
My family and I love this place. Food and atmosphere are always good, and the staff is accommodating. My boyfriend loves the... seafood, and the mozzarella logs are huge. We always have good food here. We came on a Saturday, and the place was packed. Wewere told 20 minute wait, but we waited more like 30. I don't mind waiting that long at most restaurants on a Saturday night,but there isn't a lot of room to stand and nowhere to sit while you wait for a table. You can wait around the bar but therereally isn't a lot of room. When we did get seated it was so loud we could hardly hear each other or the waiter. I'd also saythey don't have many vegetarian options. There is a handful of salads and some appetizers, but only one entree, the "black beankeen-wa burger." It is good, but when its the only choice it gets old after a while. In general I love this place, but I'd sayconsider coming on a weekday and if there's a vegetarian in your party, maybe consider somewhere else. Sea Jax is one of the best hideways in Kettering hands down. The most difficulty i have is deciding what to order. Soups, sides... and sauces are made in house, even the tartar and cocktail. Clam chowder and calamari are a must. I'm not a fan of the usualrubbery rings and tentacles, their calamari steak strips are hand breaded, tender every time. Other favs are coconut shrimp,fish n chips, shrimp creole, blackened salmon salad or with coconut rice n veggies. You can't go wrong with any of the tacoswith black bean n rice. WOW! Hidden gem here! Wife and I had dinner here last night and man were we surprised by this place. The wait staff (Dan was our... guy) seemed to genuinely like working here and the overall atmosphere was that of a fun, laid back, take your time, we're gladyou're here vibe. Dan was very helpful with selecting menu items (this was our first time but definitely not our last) andsuggesting drinks, informing us of little nuances. The food was beyond delicious. Had the boom boom shrimp appetizer, thegrouper Reuben, and the wife had the grilled chicken Caesar wrap. Zero complaints. Wow! I can?t say enough good things about this place! First time I?ve been here and was greeted warmly by the staff. They were... so quick for food delivery I was so impressed. I ordered a soft pretzel to start, the dipping sauce was wonderful. For myentrée I ordered the creole shrimp. It was so flavorful and everything was hot and fresh! My friends got burgers and they werehuge! Definitely did not skimp on the toppings. I will definitely be back! I also ordered fish and chips to go and also wasgreat. Read more
Had date night at Sea Jax Tavern with some friends on Saturday night. It was busy when we arrived at 5:30 so we enjoyed some... great craft beers while we waited for our table. Once at that table, we looked over the very diverse menu with lots of foodoptions. I decided to go with the Grouper Reuben. I absolutely love turkey Reubens so I wasn't real sure about the Groupersubstitution. It arrived and I took one bite which you can see in the picture. This is by far, the best reuben that I have everhad! As I watch Sunday football, I can't stop thinking about having another one. Compliments to the chef!
