Reviews for Alaska King Crab Company in Ketchikan, AK
First time having grab and salmon, and man, we are sure glad we waited until we visited Ketchikan to try it for the first time!... No fishy smell at all to the restaurant, I was nervous, as I've smelled salmon at restaurants in the mainlands, and could neverbring myself to eat it - can't do that fish smell. Our food was fresh, and the bartender showed us how to open the crab legs????The salmon and crab were better than I could have ever expected. Highly recommended!! If you've never had either crab or salmonand have always wanted to try it, this place is one of the best - or if you love these things, this place may ruin otherrestaurants for you! Great experience! This restaurant did not disappoint for our first Alaskan date! My server was wonderful and my Bloody Mary made my heart sing... praises to the Lord. Knowing that the crabbers have been affected by COVID, fishery regulations, inflation, gas prices, Iunderstand crab costs are up everywhere. My server suggested the one pound special and it was perfect. We also got the halibutburger which we loved. This was an extremely busy restaurant but they moved FAST. Highly recommend. Read more
Decent quality. Flavor was ok. The price and amount we got was ridiculous. Ordered 4 lbs, $390 w shipping and maybe got a pound... of meat from it. Was pretty underwhelming what was delivered for what we paid. Does that look like 4lbs to you? Yea, me neither. Read more
Service was poor - Didn?t bother staying to eat here. We came here for a late lunch at around 3pm for a family of four. The... hostess sat us at a small table and seeing as the restaurant was empty and we were very hungry (and were planning to order alot), we asked if we could move to a larger table at the back. The hostess was very rude when she told us no. Apparently theyhave a policy that families of four are not allowed to be seated at tables for larger parties, even when the restaurant waspractically empty. Another Staff member (who was much nicer) also told us that we couldn?t use the larger table. I understandhaving this policy in place during peak business hours but overall, this seemed like poor restaurant management and unacceptablelevel of service. So we upped and left, and ended up eating at the Alaskan Fish House (where we tried every item on the menuand sat on a large picnic table that was pretty much double the size of the table that we were seated at at the Alaska King CrabCompany). Great crab, odd hours depending on when the cruise ships dock.
Our cruise ship arrived in Juneau quite early so we anxiously waited for this restaurant to open. We were not disappointed.... Brantley, our server, was friendly, helpful and very efficient. My wife enjoyed cab legs while I opted for variety with theCaptain's Plate. Read more
I was very disappointed with the service. I waited patiently a good ten minutes. I had to ask twice is there anyone available to... take my order. After the two waitress went back and forth about who serves my table I was finally serviced by a waitress. Shetried to be friendly with a free clam chowder soup and free cheese cake because it's my birthday. But I couldn't help but tonotice how attentive she was with other tables. The food was good but the service really messed up my whole experience. Read more
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Luckily they?re getting 1 star because if i could, I?d put nothing. We overlooked so many other great... places in Ketchikan to go to this dump. When y party of 3 arrived, we waited at the counter to be seated. There was a youngfemale employee who kept looking over at the door where more and more people kept coming in and we?re waiting. ZEROacknowledgment. I understand where the restaurant can be busy but at least acknowledge the fact you have customers waiting for20 minutes now just looking around. How bad can it be to say ?we?ll be right with you??! Don?t ignore the fact that I?m standingthere. I truly wanted to see how long we were going to stand there.. a total of 30 minutes had passed. I ended up going to thebar and just observed all 20 people standing at the door waiting for a table. We didn?t order food because we had no clue howlong it would take and besides, we needed to give ourselves time to head back to the ship. We were at the bar maybe 15 minutes.Drank one beer and paid the bill immediately. It wasn?t until we started to get our things and leave that another employeefinally went to get menus and start seating people. So now, and entire 45 minutes with ZERO acknowledgment of customers.Unacceptable and terrible service. And I?m glad we didn?t eat there because the reviews I?ve read are terrible. If you want tohave crab legs definitely eat at Juneau or Skagway. Read more
