Who is in this kitchen!? There haven't been many places where me and my husband have walked out and said, "Wanna come back... tomorrow?" From the appetizer to the dessert it was all delicious. We ate inside which honestly, kind of smells odd, maybe likean older building but that quickly goes away. We had calamari for the appetizer. They're fried and perfectly seasoned. Whateverthe sauce is that comes with it, try it. The salads were good portion sizes. The scallops could've been cooked longer but I likemine overdone so there's that. Again, whatever that sauce is for the scallops, try it. We were warned that everything is madefresh (LOVE THIS) so the food takes longer but our food came out faster than it does at other restaurants so there was noproblem there. The black Iron Grill was a wonderful place to have a nice meal. The service was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The menu... was full of excellent choices. We had the beer batter mushroom appetizer to start which was "baby" crimini mushrooms in a tastybatter served with ranch. I had the black grouper served blackened on rice with a perfectly balanced cream sauce and excellentpresentation. My wife had the petit filet mignon with baked potato. The filet was cooked perfectly to order with perfectseasoning to enhance the flavor of the filet which was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. We had a side of Brussel sprouthash which was also well prepared. The wine and beer selection was more than adequate in range and choice from New to welldeveloped. Black Iron Grille in Kent is an amazing steak house and we can?t wait to go back!! Everything was perfect. When we arrived my... daughter and I enjoyed the warm crusty bread with whipped honey butter and some cold white wine on the out door covered patio.The bubbling water fountains added a great ambiance and beauty. It was a beautiful warm night but there are heaters for coolerevenings and fireplace that would be so cozy! For dinner, we both loved our fresh salads and our filets were delicious andcooked to perfection. I had a baked potato with my steak and my daughter had the mashed with gravy. Both were yummy! First time here, definitely the last. Pretty poor restaurant in general, really poor steakhouse. So much char on the outside of... the steak it's all one can taste. Bacon wrapped scallop appetizer tasted good, but only three scallops for $11.99 isn't reallyworth it. The experience had about the same quality as Chipotle for only 5 times the price. After the meal, I understand whythere were only 4 parties in the entire restaurant at 7pm on a weekend. Pass on this one. Buy a cast iron skillet, and a goodcut of steak at the local market and cook it at home yourself. You'll spend less and have a better meal. Read more
