Reviews for Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken in Kennesaw, GA
I read all of the hype about Gus chicken and I ordered chicken through door dash at 11 am and the chicken got to me in an hour.... The chicken was dry as a bone. It was way over cooked and the skin was like leather and you couldn?t bite through it. I ordereda piece of coconut pie and they didn?t put it in the bag. Where I live they have Popeyes chicken. It?s 10 times better and juicyand a light crisp coating Read more
You must eat here... their fried chicken is amazing and it stays hot! Crispy but not thick breading. Different than anywhere... else...The sides are really good too! A must visit! Read more
?.Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I won?t be back to find out. I paid $14 for this place and a water. Nothing about this... food was exceptional. I will say the batter/skin is definitely different than what I?ve had before, but that?s it?..flavorwasn?t there?..just disappointed. But definitely try for yourself, I could have other worldly taste buds lol Read more
We visited a Gus?s in Austin, TX and were thoroughly impressed. We were surprised to see this Gus?s in passing while visiting... our daughter in Kennesaw. The chicken tenders, slaw and fries were delicious? side of beans, not so much. The fried chicken wasok but seemed a bit excessively greasy. The beans tasted like they were straight from a can and were warm at best. The lemonadewas Minute Maid from the fountain. My daughter and husband had the greens which they both enjoyed. On a good note, the staff wasvery friendly and courteous, which is always a plus and the restrooms were clean with soap in the dispensers! It?s a fairly newlocation so we will give them some more time and go back for another round (smile). Read more
Went on a Friday for lunch. Not crowded. We dined in and were greeted immediately. I got the 2 piece with Mac and cheese and... fries. They were out of the fried pickles when we went. But our server was friendly. The food was good, chicken was flavorfuland juicy. The Mac and cheese was ok to me but I'm a Mac and cheese connoisseur. Fries were good, can't go wrong with fries.Overall I enjoyed the food. Read more
I tried Gus?s for the first time today. The location itself was nice, clean and spacious and the service was great. I ordered... fried green tomatoes and the three piece wing meal with coleslaw and beans. The owner/manager was kind enough to bring mesamples of the greens, okra and Mac and cheese as I waited for my order. I thoroughly enjoyed the greens and potato salad. Theokra was also very good. I liked the chicken as well, to me the breading is perfect, not too much-and the flavoring is on point.I?ve had hot chicken at one other establishment however I can honestly say that Gus?s is the best. Dined in at one of the ATL locations. The food was great, the chicken is cooked to order so if you don't call ahead be prepared... to wait. The sides were excellent my favorite was the fried okra. Read more
Fried chicken has always been good here but the Togo box that the chicken came in looks like it has been torn up by a dog or... someone stepped on it. Which made it not too appealing. They should?ve just use a new Togo box. Also they got my order wrong forthe second time. I ordered 3 piece dark meat but I got a 2 piece order instead. Maybe they thought the 2 pieces were largeenough pieces to make up for the 3 piece order I guess. Read more
