The Flying Dutchman catered our meeting for lunch today and I had the clam chowder soup and it was wonderful so I had to come... back at dinner and get some more. I also ordered a half a dozen oysters on the half shell and sat outside and enjoyed theevening. The oysters were extremely fresh and very flavorful. They came with cocktail sauce and horseradish. I ordered a bowlof the clam chowder and it was a perfect early evening dinner. The clam chowder is honestly one of the best I've ever had. Iwould have given this five stars except I really didn't eat a meal so I don't know how those are but what I had was verygood. The server was very attentive and helpful and my food came out quickly. Service was decent; just a few minute hiccups, but overall good. The Whitefish Victoria is excellent! It's perfectly pan fried... and the lemon caper sauce isn't overpowering! My son had a cheeseburger and he said nit was good! My husband had a BlackenedChicken Ranch Sandwich. He said it was good. Enjoyable meal. Read more

We went there to enjoy the live band. It's located at the back of the entertainment Kemah stage and along the water view. ... ... The ambiance was so relaxing and it's a plus you can hear the band. I love the place for hanging out, specially outside. Relaxing with the family. The manager and waiters are friendly. The food... was okay. The seafood platters are little bit salty, grilled oyster could be more crunchy. But overall not bad to sit down andhave their food. The view outside outstanding. I will be back. Read more
This was our first time to eat at the Flying Dutchman and the atmosphere was very comfortable and cozy for our group of 30 plus... for a birthday party. My platter was filled with many types of fried seafood. It was good. My only complaint was the taste ofthe fried fish. I enjoyed it but it was a different tasting type of fish. And the portion size for the soups were small also. Iwill add that dessert was delicious. I also asked the wait staff for coffee and specifically asked for decaffeinated to whichthey told me they didn't have any. We asked the manager and he told us they did have decaffeinated coffee. I took it he wasgoing to have staff make some for us. The coffee never arrived. Read more
