Reviews for Mi Pueblito in Kearny, NJ
I decided to give this place a try since I was closer to this one than El Rincón Mexicano which is my go-to Mexican restaurant... and wow am I disappointed. Not only did I pay $19 for an order of 3 tacos and a drink which is ridiculous and extremelyoverpriced, but they were also not good or authentic. I ordered the bistec tacos, the meat was hard not chewy, it was very oilyand the chunks of radish which I?ve never seen IN an actual taco, it?s usually on the side was shocking. And the huge slices ofonions that were as big as my thumb!? Overall it was just very sloppy and poorly made. These aren?t real Mexican tacos. I won?tbe ordering from here again and I wouldn?t recommend it to anyone either. I?ll stick to my usual go-to from here on out. Read more
A cute little mexican food restaurant right in the heart of Kearny, Nj. Pros: - Humble staff - Clean Restaurant - Resonable... price - All dishes can be served without meat, so plenty of options for vegetarians - Super amazing Guac Cons: - Menu can beconsolidated, it was just bit too much on the list - Potions can be cut down a bit with more focus on quality than quantity -The taste of the tacos was bit off, may be late dining hours are not a good option Read more
So disappointed with the food. I ordered some chicken nachos I didn?t expect what I received. I?ve been to different Mexican... restaurants and this doesn?t look like nachos. the presentation should always be a plus. Read more
It seems like a family run place. A small restaurant that serves delicious yummy tacos. I?ve tried their chicken and shrimp... tacos and have loved them every single time. The only complaint I have is their guacamole lacking flavor. It is more of apickup place than a dine-in. There are very few restaurants in Kearny/Harrison area that serve good food and this is one ofthem. Read more
Very close to authentic Mexican food. Family run businesses always deliver on point. If you like authentic Mexican food try this... restuarant for sure in Newark. The only problem being family run business is that the service is not that great hence one startaken out. But for me service is not a big thing when going to a family run business. Be mindful of their small space so dont gothere in big group. Read more
Authentic menu at great prices. Everything we've tasted was excellent so we keep coming back and trying new dishes. Tres leches... cake is freaking awesome, save room. Place is small so may be hard to get a table. Read more
I love this cute little place! Its decorated very nicely and they are very fast. The food is delicious and I think its worth the... price. 3 tacos are about $9. Wish they gave you the option to just have 2 tacos. They also serve horchata which is sodelicious. They have a lot of food to select from the menu. The only problem is that it is a very tiny place, so it might betough to bring in a huge crowd without calling to reserve. Other than that, it's my new taco place. Read more
The other day I ordered Mi Pueblito for lunch. I ordered their Marinated Pork Burrito w/ Red Beans for the side. The burrito... came with chips and guacamole, salsa verde, salsa roja, and sour cream. The portion size for the burrito was extremelyimpressive. My only issue was that the pork that was inside of the burrito did not have any flavor at all and the texture was alittle on the stiff side. I absolutely loved their guac n chips though! Both of the salsa?s were pretty good as well too. As anavid Spanish food lover, I was absolutely disappointed in the Red Beans. They lacked any personality and were more soupy thanbean-filled. Maybe the black beans would be better? I would love to try this place again, hopefully their other menu items canmake up for this particular order. Read more
