One of my favorite restaurants in Singapore. I am excited that they has opened the first Texas restaurant in Katy. I like their... Dim Sum taste, especially the Baked Barbecue Pork Buns! But for the service, they need more improvements. Read more

My 1st experience was at the NYC location. And it was mind blowing delicious. So glad we finally got one here! We already have... some great dim sum option so adding THW to the list is big plus. My favorite is the BBQ bao and the chive dumpling! Must order. Read more

There?s no doubt the food taste great but service needs improvement. If you plan to go, it would be best to join the waitlist... beforehand. We put our name on the waiting list around 5:30PM on a Sunday and waited for an hour. This place gets packedespecially since they just opened! The menu is pretty simple and you write your orders on a piece of paper and they take thepaper and punch the orders for you. For some reason, our order got messed up like one dish got duplicated while another dishwasn?t ordered. There was another dish that was sold out but it wasn?t communicated to us, they only marked an X on the paper. The food tastes the way I remember it from 6 years ago but I definitely noticed the pork buns are way smaller now. I recommendordering the spicy wontons and noodles, those were really good. For dessert, definitely order the sesame balls! Read more

Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong is a Michelin star restaurant. So I was curious to see what the hype was all about. I can 30min before... opening time and was the first one in. The service was quick and friendly. I proceeded to get my orders in before the rest ofthe crowd lined up behind got in. Let me start by listing what I believe are the best dishes: - BBQ pork bun - Deep Frieddumplings with pork and dried shrimp - Lava custard sesame ball - Steamed Pork ribs All the fried and baked dishes had crispyexteriors and hot & savory or sweet interiors. They were delicious and new to me. Now for the dishes that didn?t stack up: -chicken feet - shrimp and chive dumplings - turnip cake - wonton soup - wonton in chili oil - pork and shrimp siu mai Thesedishes were either bland, under seasoned, with smaller portions or 1 less portion compared to other local dim sumhouses. Overall, I felt that what was good was good, and what wasn?t wasn?t. There was no in between. I would come back if theprices were cheaper or the portions were bigger. But when my bill is more than my typical dim sum bill, and I?m still a littlehungry, it leaves me disappointed. Michelin star this Katy branch is not. Read more

Everything about this place is just mediocre- i did not have to wait which is good. The most disappointing dish was chicken... feet- ha cao and chaxiu bun were surprisingly good- the price is reasonable- neither pricey nor cheap. I would not def have todrive far since a lot of simiar or better dimsum places are closer. Read more

Agree with some people. Over rated & over priced for the portion size. Food was not fresh. Taste wise isn't great. Not worth the... wait in my opinion. Lava Custard Sesame Ball was the only good dish. Customer service is better than usual, can't expect toomuch in an Asian environment. Read more

Summary : Food is about as good as I remember it from other THW locations but service is on the rougher side, even considering... the fact that the location just opened. Food: They're known for the BBQ pork bun, and it's easy to see why. Out of our ordersthe braised beef with daikon is probably the most forgettable while the spicy cucumber was surprisingly good for such a simpledish. Service: I'm not one to let suboptimal service detract from a good experience, but service literally forgot about ushalfway through dining. The first few dishes came out within a reasonable amount of time, but then we waited over 35mins withoutanything else coming out and no one checking on us. When we asked a waiter, we were told the dishes would be reordered, which isbaffling. Why did they have to be reordered? Sure, the dim sum was good but my family and I left with a bad taste in our mouthsafter sitting through multiple rounds of customers coming in and getting food well before ours were even brought out. We likelywill not be returning for the foreseeable future. I understand it's opening week but for a Michelin star restaurant, it's hardto look past. Note: our order time on the receipt states 12:08pm. We only had about half of our orders fulfilled by 12:33pm butthen the other half did not come out until 1:27pm. The last unfulfilled dish (turnip cake) still did not come out by 1:45pm, sowe asked for the check, paid, and left without it. Read more

The service may be new but they are being trained well. The food is exceptionally good and makes it a good competitor to more... established dim sum places. I want to thank Tim Ho Wan for the good experience and I will be coming again in the future. Read more
