Over cooked fried shrimp, I ordered my daughter chicken tenders and fries , might as well have ordered her tree bark, she ... couldn't eat them, and hardly any chicken. Paid $40 for food, and I could have done better somewhere else. Good thing it was togo,because I would have got up and left the food sitting there. Thought I'd try it because it was about 5 min away, box shrimpfrom the store would have been better. I'm not sure why people are raving about the fried shrimp, straight trash, and the frieswere plain. I never post reviews hardly ever, but come on, overpriced. Read more
Extremely bad customer services, we were seated at our table and a waitress never came to get our drink order. Finally I pulled... the waitress from the next table she took our drink order and took forever and a day to bring it out to us. We ordered a familymeal comb (fried catfish, shrimp, rice and fries) they only brought out the catfish and the rest of the food it was broughtafter we finished the catfish. Rice was horrible and shrimp had absolutely no flavor. Oh as an appetizer we ordered the jumboboiled shrimp and that came in after our food. The waitress said she was new but that?s not an excuse. After a 20 minute wait and an argument between the bartender the waiter and waitress we finally got our menus delivered by the... bartender. The food came out quite fast afterwards and a waitress that was not involved in the beginning was very helpful andprompt. I got the seafood platter and my friends got a shrimp garlic dish. The enjoyed their dish. I was not keen on my dish butI can say the deep fried stuffed crab was pretty good. The main reason I didn't enjoy the dish as much bc the batter they use ismore of a cornmeal type as opposed to something crispy and light like panko. The rice was not that good, Mambo's rice is better. Anyway would I go back? Most likely not, specifically because of the service, the food I would give it a second chance. Great restaurant design and clean!.. even the restroom was clean!.. but Low Costomer service!.. and unprofessional stuff!.. and... long waits to get served!.. and server needs to be quick to take orders without a mistakes because customers need to wait to getthere orders but most of the time the servers giving wrong wrong order to the customer!.. OK restaurant. Big portions, inexpensive prices. We visited Golden Seafood on a weeknight in Katy, TX. The parking is plenty... ample, and the restaurant is very spacious. We were seated promptly and also reseated promptly when an extra person joined ourgroup. The menu is quite large, consisting of seafood dishes as expected and a few non-seafood items like chicken breast and ahamburger. Delivery of the food was very inconsistent. Out hush puppies came out first. Fried rice second. Then four of thefive plates we ordered. Probably 10-15 minutes later, the fifth plate came. And finally the corn that we ordered at the verybeginning came. The bacon wrapped shrimp was not particularly flavorful, and the broccoli was raw and extremely hard. The elotewas really just plain, grilled corn. The food was OK, the portions were large for all of our plates. Overall, the restaurantwas OK for the dishes that we had and is a good choice for a weeknight restaurant. Read more
I have been going to the Katy location since roughly around 2015, and have always enjoyed the food and service. I literally had... no complaints ever. However, the last 3 times we have gone the service and time to receive our food has been horrible. There wasfive in our group the last time we went. Two people received their food first after an hour. They finished their food then the3rd person received their food. The 3rd person finished their food, and then my daughter and I got our food at the end. Thewaitress never returned after bringing each plate out. Was seated at a booth in the bar area. The young waitress did not speak English so trying to order was not easy. I ordered the... fried shrimp and it came with a side choice of french fries or fried rice. I chose the fried rice. When my order was brought tothe booth, the food looked okay. The fried rice was okay, but the shrimp was terrible, the worst fried shrimp of my life. I'mpretty sure it was old and spoiled. I could not get service from my waitress for 28 minutes and when she finally came to checkon me I wasn't feeling well and I told her I wanted my check and I needed to pay and leave. She never came back and 19 minuteslater, the bartender could tell something was wrong and asked me if everything was okay. I told her I was waiting on thewaitress to bring me the bill so I could pay and leave. The bartender rang my ticket up and I paid and left. I ended up laid upwith food poisoning.
