The food is phenomenal. This was our first meal after arriving and it certainly did not disappoint. Those smoked wings are the... best wings we've ever had, even eaten without sauce. We're from NC, we know good BBQ and smoked meats, and those wingsdefinitely set the bar high. The ono fish and chips were exactly what we've been looking for on the islands. They were fresh andthe batter was tasty. The flourless chocolate cake and PB ice cream just ends the meal with the perfect finish. The whiskey maitai is a twist on the traditional, but it was also a great drink. Highly recommend Avalon if you're on the island. Just be sureto make a reservation just in case. Read more
Hands down, the best meal I have ever had on this island. I've been coming here for the past 22 years. Could not give this a... higher recommendation. Had a group of 12, and when making the reservations, I experienced some of the best customer service I?ve ever had. They easily... accommodated us, and were happy to do so. Had some of the best service ever, from all of the servers. I never once felt like anyof us waited too long for anything? a refill, appetizers, entrees, etc. The owner even came outside to talk with all of usafterwards, and honestly made us feel like family. His wife makes the desserts there, which I highly recommend the breadpudding. The smoked poutine fries were awesome, and the scotch egg is worth trying!! They really cared about our experience, andwe will definitely be returning. For it being our first time in Kauai, I couldn?t have asked for a better restaurant experience.Thank you Avalon!! Read more
I don?t think I can say enough how great this place is. Food, drinks, whiskey and dessert are all great. If you are a whiskey... lover this is a nice change of pace from all the tropical drinks you will likely get on the island everywhere else. Gabe and Aliare the owners. They really know their stuff and strive to give you an excellent experience every time. Pub steak is excellentand comes with a chipotle butter which is bomb. They also usually have some specials which are really good as well (pic attachedis a bomb pork chop). For dessert we always did the sticky toffee pudding and if you have been to any Gordon Ramsey restaurantthis gives it a run for their money. We went a couple times when staying in Kapaa and went when we were staying at the GrandHyatt even though it?s a little farther from there. This place is that GOOD! Great drinks and great food. Had the red light negroni and the mezcal white negroni, good balance of flavors in both, but I do... like the red light one better. Also tried their scotch egg, fried Mac and cheese, octopus salad and fish and chips. The frieddishes are very well done. Crispy and yet not too greasy or heavy. I would highly recommend a meal at Avalon while in Kauai! We had the scotch egg, Asian tacos, truffle fries, fried brussel... sprouts, pot pie of the day (turkey, carrots, bechamel, mashed potatoes), and deep fried brioche bread pudding. The Asian tacoswere my least favorite but everything else was outstanding. They definitely seemed short staffed but the food was worth thewait. We got there at around 5/6 pm on a Wednesday and were able to get outdoor seating. However, it got busier as the eveningprogressed and it seemed like reservations were needed for eating later in the evening. Definitely worth a visit! Read more
Great service, good food, and a wide selection of cocktails with an emphasis on negronis and old fashioneds. Kauai's first... gastropub definitely hits the mark. The place itself has a prohibition-era speakeasy vibe. They might be changing locations atthe end of July 2022, so doublecheck the address and don't miss this fun place. Read more
