Good pizza at a great price. I can see why a lot of UMKC students come here. The service was great, servers are extremely nice... and patient. Only complaints were a foul smell in the outside dining area, but it seemed like it was coming from a ways down thestreet so it's out of the businesses control. I love Pizza 51. It is such a great spot I love the patio. Many years ago in my early 20s I worked here and loved watching... families come in with their kids nearly 20 years later here I am sitting on the patio with my children. The pizza has alwaysbeen consistent the owners are still popping around the shop I see them from time to time. I don't know if they remember me butthey had a plan when they opened and the plan has been a huge success. They are inspiring and the food is still as tasty asever. Even after working here I have never gotten burn out on Pizza 51 it is so good. Love the house dressing on the salads(made in house) it is so amazing. I moved away for 10 years and I would crave Pizza 51. So happy to be back in KC and the factthat they were one of a few businesses that survived the pandemic. Read more

Pretty good pizza. Not head-spinning, but certainly worth the price. Friendly staff, and they have somewhat reasonable prices. ... It really probably would have been close to 4 stars but the very thin paper plates with the ruffles around the edges just tookit down a notch. Just buy some regular steel plates or something. Pizza 51 is a decent pizza place it's themed similar to a diner on a famous highway in the U.S.A. the pizza is New York style... thing crust pizza, pizza was cooked well not floppy but not too crispy and the topping were generous. One downside and a staroff is the staff, the teenagers were arguing with what I'm assuming was the manager. Another issue is the stand the pizza cameon was kind of dirty and had sauce on it. Bottom line I would get pizza here again but probably order ahead of time and to go. Read more
The pizza was great. We got the cow town pizza. We also sat in a tiny compact booth! It did have a sign matching the rest of the... restaurants decor and I appreciate the humor. They got 3 stars because the atmosphere was weird and listening to the employeesbicker with each other wasn?t what I wanted to listen to while eating dinner. They also have a 1 free refill rule. I?m thirsty!The metal stand they served our pizza on was also dirty when they put it on our table. I?ll probably order from here again butit will be to go. Read more
This is one of the coolest pizza places around. It is hard to pick out just one thing to discuss. The service was excellent and... I received great recommendations from the cashier. She discussed the specials and answered all my questions. The price wasfair. The pizza was delicious. When she showed. Me the sizes of a slice, I did not realize they also cut it into smaller pieceswhich was perfect. I was worried about how to hold the pizza due to its size and I was able to share the smaller pieces with myson. The toppings and portion sizes was excellent. I highly recommend this place for anyone in Kansas City in general and it'slocation to UMKC makes it a great location for the campus as a whole. Read more
