I appreciate the diversity and authenticity of their menu, but this tasted like glamorized Chinese take out. Just a step up from... Panda Express, except the dishes at Panda tasted better and leaves you wanting more. I had the duck lettuce wrap and theflavoring wasn?t good at all. My husband had the Chinese ribs and that was a bit better, but they slather the rice with sauce,making it so salty. Read more

This is a nice little place. The owner was very personable to me. Made it a point have a conversation with me and tell me about... the restaurant's beginnings. I ordered dumplings, crispy pork belly, and caramelized pork belly. All were truly delicious Read more
I have always wanted to try an Asian inspired BBQ. Duck ???? & Roll starts by having a great name and an even better location... near the Plaza's edge in thr old Kansas City Trades building. The restaurant has a very decent sized dine-in seating area and afantastic layout so guests can watch the staff make their meals while they wait. Duck & Rolls theme is made up of largepaintings and wallpaper that appears to be from all over the world. The staff is even willing to explain the menu and helpguests pick. The food, however, leaves a little to the imagination. It is possible that I dont understand Asian BBQ, but Iexpected it to be made in a style that would be inspired by the cultural background. Duck & Roll makes everything from scratch,so they are getting the fresh factor right, but not the taste one in my eyes. The food was very good, dont get me wrong, it wasjust not Asian in any way in my eyes. The dumplings are hand made and flavorful. The crispy chicken is delicious andundoubtedly crispy. I was excited to try this new spot near the plaza. KC doesn?t have many authentic Chinese offerings as I?m used to from my home... in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, this wasnt authentic as expected and the environment felt like a Subway with some traditionaldecor. The food was decent, but also overpriced for the portions. Sometimes the atmosphere makes up for the price but not inthis case. I?ll have to stick with the restaurants back in Southern California owned by some of my friends until KC attractstrue culinary talent to serve this niche. Read more
Authentic and delicious. We had a large take out order and everything tasted fantastic. Not greasy like dishes from other... Chinese restaurants. Recommend the char sui pork, duck spring rolls and dumplings. Wish I'd taken some pictures to share. Willdo next time! Read more
Tasty specialty Chinese food with several duck themed dishes and other specialties. The white jasmine rice was tasty and had a... nice mouthfeel. The Master Stock Chicken had a delicious flavor that reminded me slightly of Filipino Adobo chicken, given howmany flavors were in it. The Fried Rice was quality as well. Just one note: if you do not like cilantro, some of the dishesmay not be for you. The dumplings and fried rice both contained decent portions of it. Read more
