I have been here several times while traveling through Kalkaska. This is a must stop locally owned, dog themed,... diner/restaurant. There is outdoor seating, indoor seating in both booth and table and hightop and diner style seating. Theyhave a full coffee menu I would suggest a dirty chai latte. YES. The squad at M&S shared exactly the refreshments I needed late in a motorcycle camping trip. A power outlet to charge my... phone, coffee vastly superior to stereotypical diner fare, and a delightful meal that delightfully balanced savory and sweet.I'd enjoy planning future trips around this spot! We stopped here on a Sunday morning and it was packed...which is always a good sign! Despite being busy, we were greeted and... seated (outside) promptly. Sage was our server and she was fantastic! Friendly and attentive while managing all tables on thepatio with great efficiency...including some larger parties. Food was delicious as well! We'll definitely be back when we are inthe area. The place is good for its food. I highly recommend it. I know it may look like small portions compared to other places, but it... surprisingly got me very full. I highly recommend the buttermilk pancakes. Those are for sure, worth the trip. Review: Uponapproaching the doors, some stood up from a table far away to greet us and bring us inside. Once through the main doors, therewas another person who asked if we wanted to stay indoors or outdoors. We chose indoors. Upon going to choose our table, wenoticed the seats were actually very dirty. We went to another table and the seats themselves, were also not sanitized. We gotan order of orange juice, and my cup original had something black in there. Apparently it was a piece of coffee bean inside.They said the machine was next to the coffee dispenser. I got a new cup of orange juice. We placed our order, of a skillet, andan omelette, with pancake as the side instead of toast. When the food arrived, it actually looked way less than what I amaccustomed to. However, diving into it, I realized I was wrong. The portions actually filled me up The over easy eggs had adifferent texture and taste than what I am accustomed to. Almost as if the eggs were freshly harvested, or more fresh than storebought eggs down south. It was delicious to me. The hash browns and the cheddar cheese to the skillet actually seemed less, andit seemed it needed more protein (steak), but again, it still got me full. The thing that made me upset was that the ketchupbottle was not properly working. I was unable to get ketchup for my hash browns. The last dish was the pancakes. It was moregreasy than the usual pancakes I am used to, but they were very soft, and fluffy. These pancakes were much better than any otherplace I had so far. First time to Moose & Stella?s. Stopped for breakfast and was not only pleasantly surprised but blown away! By far, best... breakfast we?ve had in northern MI, including TC. Hash & Eggs was amazing. Crispy potatoes, tender corned beef and perfectlytoasted sour dough bread. Topped off with Chai Tea Latte. My wife ordered stacked, baked French toast with caramel latte.
