Cheryl was a FANTASTIC server! Great recommendations and very attentive! This will be our go to special occasion restaurant from... here on out. The popovers were as tasty as all the reviews mention! Both cocktails I got were so interesting and refreshing!The Korean short ribs were to die for, the Mac and Cheese with Lobster was honestly some of the best Mac and Cheese I've everhad, the mushroom toast was insanely comfy and full of deep flavors, and my mom's filet was delicious as well according to her!Both deserts were dynamic in their flavor and not overly sweet! Our Airbnb host recommended this restaurant for steak and it did not disappoint. My husband had steak and loved it, but i on the... other hand had their daily special for fish, which was halibut. It was hands down the best fish dish I?ve had in a very longtime. All of their staff was super kind and helpful and they had amazing drinks too. If/when we come back to Kalispell I hope tovisit Mercantile Steak again. Read more
Great dining experience and best steak I?ve had in a while. Our server, Cheryl, was awesome. Helped us navigate the menu and was... very knowledgeable. Great guidance but no pressure. We got a filet and the NY strip. I have to give the nod to the filet, butthe NY strip was lean (in a good way) and tender. Steaks could not have been cooked more perfect, and the crust was on point.Salad, drinks and bread were also delicious, but the steak?.. The popovers (bread) were unique and we loved it. The entire experience was spot on. Our server was excellent - well-versed in the menu, efficient, professional, polite. The... design of the restaurant is beautiful. The popovers provided to each table are a great idea. The smoked trout appetizer wasexceptional - beautifully balance in flavor and texture. The baked potato, Mac & cheese, and asparagus sides were cookedperfectly. But the star of the show was pork chop. There really aren't enough expletives to explain it. I like steak plenty,but pork chops are such a nice alternative and this one is the best one I've ever had. Perfectly brined, subtle smoke flavor,cooked to a perfect medium, exceptionally fatty.
