I love this restaurant! I certainly visit a bit too much, but the staff is very friendly and the food here is to die for! My go... to is the Birria Taco plate! Read more

We had breakfast at La Familia Cafe. Dan & Ida (owners) were very gracious & professional. The Menudo was excellent, and the... breakfast burritos was delicious. Environment was family welcoming, very clean, service was excellent. 5 Star* Nancy & Roman Read more
This is unfortunate because I like this place. The one star is not for food. Their food is decent for Mexican food. This one... star is for their service. Normally I don't have a problem but today, I had ordered my food from their website at 12:50pm, itsaid it would be ready at 1:06pm. I actually got there late as it was my lunch break and was tied up in traffic, so as I walk inat 1:14pm, I was told it would be a wait. Other people had been waiting too, mind you I ordered 4 tacos, not the whole menu. Youhad workers standing around talking, only 2 or 3 in the kitchen but still the level of poor service and lack or urgency isalarming. Read more
I get pickup or delivery from here way too often. But the food is irresistibly fresh and authentic. It's the best Mexican joint... I can find in Kzoo, and trust me I've been searching high and low! I highly recommend their birria tacos. To be honest they'rejuicy even without the consume on the side. And get the sour cream - it's authentic Mexican style and you're gonna love it. Ifyou waltz in during the lunch rush - guess what, you're gonna be waiting a while. I tend to order 15 minutes ahead of my lunchbreak for pickup, or 30 minutes ahead for delivery. They're always on time in my experience. The only time it gets rough is,again, if you walk in during a big rush and expect the food to magically materialize in an instant. This is real food, notMcDonald's, and it takes time to make. I will say my only gripe can be the atmosphere. The front door is kinda janky, whichhey, I can excuse that. But when it has fingerprints smattered ALL over it, that's another story. My advice to mgmt is to wipethe double door entrance hourly when it's busy. This place is great and deserves to look welcoming. (And if you really want toget it going, update the entire dining room decor and light fixtures to a casual, colorful dinner date vibe and forget it,you'll be raking in the dough. I don't know the logistics about why you're not open for dinner but hopefully that changes overtime. This could be a killer dinner spot.) There's another taco joint in town that rhymes with Snaco Slob's, and honestly Idon't know how they're still in business. Mi Familia is authentic, fresh, and it's right there! If you want pretend Mexicanfood, go to Slob's. If you want the real deal, Familia is the one! Read more
I got a Taco Ida's Way, a Birria Taco, and the consommé soup and was blown away ????! Cheesy, crispy, and full of juicy meaty... goodness ????! The horchata balanced out their side sauces perfectly, and the best part? It came out within 3 minutes ofordering! So fast ????! Great quality for the price! Read more
