When we first arrived on the Big Island we were recommended to Huggo's. It was conveniently located next to our hotel. We were... quickly seated when we arrived on a Wednesday night. They had a fantastic drink menu and I had to break my tradition to have oneof their drinks of the day. It was very yummy! Our service was incredible and the food was also amazing. We sat down right atsunset and could be a very romantic dinner spot and a great place to have a wonderful meal with friends. I ordered the Huggo'sSignature Teriyaki Steak which was cooked to perfection! As a land lover there are limited land lover options but you can't gowrong with the Teriyaki Steak! My friend ordered the Hook, Line and Sinker which he thoroughly enjoyed. Not only did we enjoyHuggo's we also enjoyed their other two locations! Check them out and support the local business! First to get a 5 star you must be 3 Michelin starred...since this place isn't...I did give it the highest rating I can give. The... daily special is usually the best dish...the signature teriyaki steak isn't their signature, it's the special dish. The fish inan artichoke lemon caper couscous was divine. Great harmony! The desserts are all delicious and executed well. The onlycomplaint is plating and creativity...it ain't the prettiest nor out of the box but the harmony of flavors is delicious. Everything was excellent here. We arrived and were seated immediately at an incredible waterfront table. Our server (I believe... his name was Seth) was attentive, and helpful in making recommendations. Everything was excellent, great drinks, fritto mistoappetizer was super tasty, island catch of the day was good, the short rib that came with the short rib and shrimp wasoutstanding. The cost was expensive, but worth a splurge on our last full day on island. Read more
Fantastic location and environment. It was just lovely at a table overlooking the water. I'm surprised we didn't get splashed... and having our dinner during sunset was just spectacular. The food is good, the cocktails were good. The service was excellent,top notch. The food doesn't quite live up to the cost but it's close. It's good. I'd be glad to return, mainly because theservice and location really make it stand out. Read more
This restaurant was a more of an upscale feel with ocean views. The lighting was darker, and the prices a little higher than... usual. We ended up having to wait an hour for a table?unfortunately that was the case for most of the restaurants in the area.The food was beautifully presented. But I didn?t feel the service or ambiance was really worth the cost/hour long wait. Read more
I went here twice during out trip. The sunset was a gorgeous backdrop to our dinner! The waitstaff and bartender were super... friendly. The sashimi and poke tower with sweet potato chips were delightful. The sounds of the waves hitting the shorelinewas perfect ambiance too! They also have a pretty good wine list. Read more
