Reviews for Honu's on the Beach in Kailua-Kona, HI
Food choice was decent but not for 45$ a person. It's 35$ on the week days, even tho food is ABSOLUTELY the same either day.... Server boy is what ruined our experience there. He was incredibly rude to all the guests around and looked at us like we own himsomething. Read more
We had the seafood buffet which was fabulous. There was an entire room of appetizers including clam chowder, shrimp cocktail,... salads, raw fish specialties and crab legs. Everything we tried was excellent especially the crab legs. The main courseofferings were prime rib, tempura shrimp and zucchini, and a pasta station where you choose your own ingredients and they cookthem for you adding either Alfredo or marinara sauce at the end. All of the entrées were delicious. Yes we tried them all!Service was also excellent. Although this was a buffet all selections were plated by the staff who were numerous so that therewas no waiting in line. Afterwards there was a dessert bar also excellent. And live music too. Only open for Friday dinner seafood & prime rib buffets now - reservation only. Food was good quality but not much variety.... There was no fruit available, for example. If you love crab legs and prime rib and can eat a lot of those two things, it?s worthit. Otherwise, eh. -1 star for lack of variety for the $75 per person. Waitstaff was lovely, quick, and personable, and deserveall the praise. Live music was good. Views were amazing. -1 star for the manager who seemed to have it in for my boyfriend andme. Despite having helped us book our reservation earlier in the day, after we were seated by the host, she sent someone over toour table to confirm our last name and ask if we made reservations ?? Then didn?t make eye contact at all the entire evening butgraciously tended to the other (older & nicely dressed) guests. Tip: When they say casual dress code on the website, they don?tmean it, especially if you?re under 40, or you will be judged. Read more
We had a beautiful all you can eat seafood buffet. Everything was incredibly delicious and fresh! Service was superb, and we... couldn't have asked for a better setting at night. The restaurant overlooks a Cove where King Kamehameha used to rejuvenate andrest. It has great historical significance. A honor to dine there. Read more

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner while staying in Kona for their weekend buffet. It was $50/person and they had a decent... amount of options. There were 2 types of sushi, 1 chicken dish, 1 pork dish, 1 fish dish, crab legs and the beef roast. Therewere also 3 sides and a pasta/salad station. The servers were so nice and quick to help you, the view was also beautiful. Onlyreason I give it 4 stars is because it was a little pricey in my opinion for the number of options. But all delicious. Minimum choices for a buffet. Poke was ok not the greatest. Snow crab was over steamed. Most of the dishes were over cooked and... sat to long in the warmer.( went there right when it opened.) Rice tasted old and warmed up. Desert was ok the cookies weregood. Some of the cakes were hard.. No ac in dining room, super hot. Overall, over priced as well as the Parking fee. The onlything good was the unique taste of the butter for the snow crab. Read more
