What an amazing experience. The sushi rolls were exceptional, along with the cooked seafood choices. The atmosphere was warn and... comfortable. This is my favorite sushi restsraunt and I am an avid customer of new japanese restaraunts. They staff are the most amazing... people and the quality of their food reflects that, absolutley AMAZING! Best place for sushi!!! For food period.

I hadn?t been to a hibachi place for years so decided to visit Chubby Salmon over the weekend. While the decor is a bit dated... and the space could use some refreshing, we decided to let the food speak for the restaurant and boy am I glad we did. Myselfand my guest ordered hibachi dinners and a sushi roll each. The sushi tasted fine, nothing special, but the hibachi was AMAZING!While the ?cooking showmanship? was competently done, it lacked the flare ?tricks? that many other hibachi chefs perform whilecooking. He did do an onion volcano though. Where this meal shined was the taste. Everything in my shrimp dinner was expertlyprepared and tasted phenomenal. All of the ingredients cooked just right, they gave generous portions of meat and seafood, andeverything seasoned perfectly. This tasted like it he hibachi mean to end all hibachi meals. I honestly have no idea why therewere so few other diners in this restaurant. Perhaps hibachi just isn?t popular anymore. We ordered here because conveniently both our 2 normal sushi spots were closed so we thought we?d give it a try. WARNING: The... service is soooo slow. My husband and I ordered take out tonight. Sunday night, so we figured we?d beat the evening rush andrang in exactly at 4:59p. We order 2 sushi rolls and 1 basic hibachi dinner, that?s it. They told us 45 min. At first I thoughthmm that?s kinda long for a pick up order usually it?s 20-25 min. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I thought it?sSunday night, after covid, with 2 other local sushi competitors closed (they normally aren?t closed on Sunday?s) I figuredbuisness is probably popping. We arrive to Chubbys exactly at 5:36p and food isn?t ready. Wow that?s kinda surprising, it mustbe busy you?d think. Wrong. There is literally only 2 guests sitting at the sushi bar. Not a single table or other dine inguest. Hmm maybe a long line of take out orders? Nope. There was one other guest there who was waiting for her pick up order whohad just complained about ordering an hour prior. So my husband comes sits in the car with me and goes back in at 5:45p at whichpoint they inform him they are making the rolls now. Which he then came to realize they were actually making the other ladiesrolls and noticed them making what he assumed were our rolls at 5:55p. Fast forward to 6:04p when he finally comes back to thecar with our two rolls and 1 hibachi. The irony of it all.. all they say is ?sorry, we?re really busy.? So it took them an hourand 20 min to make our 2 rolls and 1 hot dish. I?d hate to see what it would have taken for a larger order or on a day wherethey actually looked busy. If they had a full house inside, or had a bunch of pick up orders coming through or heck if we had aheavy order then it could have been understandable.
